Edit
- "Staff with the power of reflection."
- —Description
Nirvana is a staff exclusive to the Advance and Complete Collection versions of Final Fantasy IV, and can only be equipped by Porom. It provides +80 Attack, 40 Accuracy, +15 to Stamina and Spirit, and casts Reflect when used as an item. It is found in the Lunar Ruins.
Final Fantasy IV: The After Years
Edit
Nirvana is a dummied out weapon that can only be accessed via hacking, and would have provided 80 Attack as well as several stat boosts. It would have cast Reflect when used as an item, and would have been used by several characters.
Final Fantasy X

- Main article: Celestial Weapon#Nirvana
The Nirvana is Yuna's Celestial Weapon, and can be obtained at the Monster Arena in the Calm Lands. It requires the Moon Crest and Sigil to attain its maximum power. At maximum power, its abilities are Break Damage Limit, Triple Overdrive, Double AP, and One MP Cost. It also allows the aeon Valefor to break the 9,999 damage limit once activated. Using the Moon Crest or Moon Sigil raises the damage limit to approximately 30,000, while using both key items will raise the damage limit to 99,999.
Final Fantasy X-2
Edit
Yuna wields the Nirvana when she is in her Black Mage dressphere.
Final Fantasy XI
Edit
The Nirvana is the Summoner's Mythic Weapon. It reduces avatar perpetuation cost by four (exceeding even Bahamut's Staff), increases Magical Attack power of avatars by a significant amount, and features the unique Garland of Bliss weapon skill. Because of these factors, and because the comparable Relic Weapon upgrade for Summoners, the Claustrum, is arguably the worst in the game, Nirvana is considered one of the few actually sensible Mythic Weapon upgrades.
Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings
Edit
- "Baton used in somber, contemplative dances."
- —In-game description
The Nirvana is one of Penelo's strongest staves and can only be crafted in the Sky Saloon with a Rare Gemstone, a Red Gemstone, and a Luxuriant Hide. It provides a base of +40 Attack, +90 Magick, and +12 Speed. It uses a generic staff sprite during battle.
Final Fantasy XIII
Edit
- "This upgraded weapon maintains the properties of the original, while boosting overall power and ATB capacity."
- —Description
The Nirvana is a final tier rod weapon for Oerba Dia Vanille, upgraded from a maxed second tier weapon using a Trapezohedron. Whilst their passive and synthesized abilities vary, all Nirvanas add one additional ATB gauge segment.
Final Fantasy XIV
Edit
Nirvana is an important artifact related to the White Mage quest chain.
Final Fantasy Tactics
Edit
- "A staff that can only be mastered by the enlightened."
- —Description
The Nirvana is the second strongest staff in the game's PSP remake, providing 5 Attack, 15% Weapon Defense, 3 Magic, and being Holy elemental. It can only be obtained through the game's Multiplayer Mode.
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance
Edit
- "Staff held by those who have cast off base desire."
- —Description
The Nirvana Staff is a powerful staff that can teach Full-Life to White Mages, Holy to Bishops, and Phoenix to Summoners.
It provides +34 Attack, +10 Resistance, and is Holy-elemental. It is obtained as a random reward for completing a mission or as a reward for a "Cave-Cave-Jagd-Jagd" Treasure Hunt or stolen from the summoner in the fight against Ritz.
Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift
Edit
The Nirvana reappears as the ultimate staff. It adds 34 to the Attack stat and 10 to the Resistance stat, as well as being Holy-elemental. Nirvana can still teach Arise to White Mages, Holy to Bishops, and Phoenix to Summoners.
It can be bought for 8,800 gil in the shop after creating it in the Bazaar after using a Lightwing Crystal, Mahbeny, and Crusader Tonic, but can also be won as a reward for completing the mission Bonga Bugle - Mistleaf by beating all monsters during the second round.

Etymology
Edit
Nirvana is a religious term used to describe the ultimate goal of the Buddhist religion (a similar concept exists in Hindu). It refers to the final level of consciousness denoted by perfect balance, knowledge, and peace which only pure souls with good karma may reach, and it is thus attained via reincarnation.
