Template:Sideicon Template:Enemy The Nekhbet is a Rare Game enemy found in the Dalmasca Estersand in Final Fantasy XII. It looks like a regular Cockatrice, but it is unwise to attack it early on, as it is a lot tougher than the regular Cockatrices. It is also fought in the International Zodiac Job System Trial Mode at stage 5 along with a Werewolf and four Cockatrices.

Etymology

In Egyptian mythology, Nekhbet was an early, pre-dynastic, local goddess who was the patron of the city of Nekheb, her name meaning "of Nekheb". She was seen as a goddess who had chosen to adopt the city, and consequently depicted as a vulture, a creature that the Egyptians thought only existed as females, having to adopt children. The priestesses of Nekhbet were called muu (mothers), and wore robes of vulture feathers.
