The Narasimha is an enemy in Final Fantasy XIII-2. It is a behemoth-type monster that appears rarely in the Yaschas Massif -01X AF-.

Stats[]

Battle[]

Narasimha can assume an upright position and recovers its health once it happens, but its defense is weakened. Narasimha can be inflicted with many statuses, but a Saboteur isn't necessary to win the battle. Like the Greater Behemoth, it becomes immune to Pain, Fog, and Daze after standing.

Strategy[]

Recommended paradigms include:

  • Aggression (COM/COM/RAV)
  • Delta Attack (COM/RAV/SEN)
  • Mystic Tower (RAV/RAV/SEN)
  • Solidarity (COM/MED/SEN)

A good start is to attack with a Commando to keep the Stagger up, then switch to Mystic Tower until Narasimha stands at around 300% chain, at which point the party can switch to Aggression. If the party is low level, they can use Delta Attack to kill him.

Paradigm Pack[]

When Narasimha joins the party, it will fight in its bipedal form wielding a massive blade. As a Commando, it has high HP and Strength, and its stats grow substantially for the first ten levels, making it a useful addition for much of the storyline. Narasimha is available to acquire early, but due to its strength and rarity, it may not be worth the trouble to recruit one as soon as it becomes available.

Narasimha is hindered by its low Magic stat and its Jungle Law passive ability. Jungle Law is not a red locked ability, and can be removed when higher priority abilities push it off Narasimha's abilities list. If the Commando role bonuses are solely chosen during growth, 4 ATB bars will be available at full potential; more than any of its behemoth brethren under the same circumstances.

It is harder to raise to full potential than Proto-behemoth, requiring Crystal monster materials to max out growth. With time put in to grow it to full potential, Narasimha is a popular choice for those who prefer a behemoth type in their party by end-game due to ATB superiority and lack of red locked abilities for flexibility in growth.

Etymology[]

Narasimha, also spelled Narsingh and similarly, is one of the primary avatars of the Hindu god Vishnu. The name is of Sanskrit origin and literally means "man-lion". In traditional Hindu arts, Narasimha is usually depicted as a man with lion attributes, often—at least—with the head of a lion.
