Mute Mask in Final Fantasy VII

Mute Mask, also known as MuteCharm, Bell of Silence, and Silent Bell, is a recurring item in the series. It usually attempts to inflict Silence on a target or all enemies.

The Bell of Silence may be found in the Cave of Mysidia on the 4th floor. It casts Silence XVI on all enemies.

The MuteCharm only appears in the NES version, and attempts to cast Silence. It cannot be bought, but can be won from various enemies.

[edit] Final Fantasy IV

The Silent Bell, also known as SilencBell, Mute Bell, and Bell of Silence in other versions, inflicts the Silence status. It can be won from various enemies.

The Silent Bell casts Silence and can be won from Gremlins.

[edit] Final Fantasy VII

The Mute Mask casts Confuse on all enemies, and can be gotten by winning them from Bahba Velamyu or Garuda, stolen from Crazy Saw, or morphed from Bahba Velamyu, Eligor, or Dorky Face.

Although it has no effect on its own, the Silence Powder is used to refine 20 Silence spells from 1 Silence Powder, or 3 Echo Screens from 1 Silence Powder.
