A moogle letter.

Mognet (モグネット, Mogunetto?) is a moogle-operated mail service originally appearing in Final Fantasy IX. It has since appeared in various other Final Fantasy games.

Appearances[]

Final Fantasy III[]

Mognet is a service run by regular moogles that is exclusive to the 3D versions. In the DS version, the moogles deliver letters either to in-game characters, or to other players over Wi-Fi (though this is now discontinued). In the mobile, PSP and PC versions, the letters unlock at certain points over the course of the story, and the player has to read the new piece of mail at a moogle found in towns before getting the next one. It is through Mognet that the player can unlock the secret dungeon and the secret job class.

Final Fantasy IX[]

Mognet is led by Artemicion. However, recently, the delivery of letters has slowed down, and the moogles have to rely on Zidane and his friends to help. The player's party can investigate the mystery of Mognet if they decide to ride a chocobo to their headquarters, Mognet Central.

Final Fantasy XIV[]

FFXIV Delivery Moogle

The Delivery Moogle system is a mail delivery service introduced in the A Realm Reborn relaunch, based on the Mognet system. Players can send mail to other players registered as friends by talking to the Delivery Moogles, and receive promotional rewards or items bought at the Mog Station.

Moogles started this service when the Padjal asked them to carry messages. Thanks to this, Moogles were more open to show themselves to outsiders, since they lived hidden prior the Calamity.

Patch 2.3 "Defenders of Eorzea" introduced a side quest series focusing a Moogle from the Delivery service. If the player completes all quests, the Delivery Moogles will have a different dialogue when talking to them.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King[]

While the Mognet doesn't make a true appearance, the Moogle Brothers will randomly mention they get their info from it should the player speak to them.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers[]

Dissidia Final Fantasy (2008)[]

The player receives Mognet letters every day and can read them via the game's Calendar function. The letters often come with PP attached, and occasionally also give the player Friend Cards and special items, or ask them questions. There are three main moogles: Linaly, named after the heroine of Final Fantasy: Legend of the Crystals, is new to Mognet and asks the player personal questions.

Benjamin, the protagonist of Final Fantasy Mystic Quest, travels to various Final Fantasy locations depending on the player's input. Mogstache, the original moogle, calls himself the Moogle Ragtime after the enemy in Final Fantasy IX and quizzes the player on previous Final Fantasy games.

Occasionally, the manager at the Mognet Head Office, a moogle drawn in the style of Kingdom Hearts moogles, will send a message to the player. The moogle added to Inward Chaos in the western release also resembles it.

Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy[]

Mognet appears again and is largely unchanged, apart from getting letters from different moogles.
