Mobliz WOB

Mobliz on the World of Balance map.

Mobliz (モブリズ, Moburizu?) is a village in Final Fantasy VI located north of the Veldt and lies north of the Serpent Trench. Due to its location the town is largely isolated from other towns and communicates with the outside world via carrier pigeon.

Story

FFVI Mobliz WoB

The town of Mobliz.

Sabin and Cyan arrive at Mobliz after leaping down Baren Falls, and using some Dried Meat venture back onto the Veldt to recruit Gau to assist them.

Mobliz WOR

Mobliz on the World Map of the World of Ruin.

When the world is destroyed by Kefka, he turns the Light of Judgment on Mobliz, decimating the town and sinking much of it into the sea. Almost all of the adults perished protecting their children: the eldest survivors, Duane and Katarin, are only teenagers. An unspecified time after, Terra arrives at the town and begins to care for the orphaned children, becoming known as "Mama" to many of them.

A full year after the apocalypse, Celes and Sabin come to the town and invite Terra to join their search for the other missing party members. Terra, undergoing a personal revelation about her feelings for the children, refuses. The demon Humbaba attacks the town, and when Terra is defeated fighting him, Celes and Sabin intervene to chase him off. Considering herself useless in battle Terra remains behind to care for the children as Celes and Sabin continue on. One of the children gives them the magicite Fenrir as thanks for battling Humbaba.

Once the player has acquired the airship, Falcon, they can return to Mobliz to discover Katarin is pregnant. Humbaba attacks again, and this time Terra trances and helps the party fight him off. Now understanding she has come to love the children, Terra rejoins the party at this point to defeat Kefka and create a better world for the kids to grow up in. After Kefka is defeated at Kefka's Tower, Katarin gives birth to her baby in Mobliz.

Quests and guides

The Wounded Soldier

In the World of Balance, Mobliz houses a wounded soldier who escaped from the Imperial army. The player has the option to pay to send letters to his girlfriend Lola in Maranda. To receive a reply, the player will have to sleep at the inn or talk to the man who talks about the Serpent Trench and view the entire sequence. Afterwards, a reply will be found on the desk in the soldier's house. If the player does this five times, the soldier thanks them for their help with a Tintinabulum.
