FFT0 Ace Cinque Mt Nesher

Ace and Cinque encounter the imperial troopers on Mt. Nesher.

The Mission Under Ceasefire (休戦下の作戦, Kyūsenshita no Sakusen?) is the Code Crimson mission of Chapter 4 in Final Fantasy Type-0 and replaces Escaping the Imperial Capital if the player chooses to "explore the outskirts" of Ingram in a New Game Plus playthrough rather than resting up in the Armada Hotel. The mission takes place on Gla. XXVIII, its initial mission level is 38 and is limited to six participants.

Briefing Edit

Rubrum has formulated a plan to investigate Militesi territory while simultaneously winning the empire's favor by dispatching cadets on the pretext of rescuing imperial troops from marauding monsters. Class Zero must form a squadron of six and head toward the blizzard-blown Mt. Nesher.
(Because this operation takes place during ceasefire, the cadets are not authorized to engage imperial forces.)

Strategy Edit

Mt. Nesher Ascent

The first area has four Evil Eyes with an SO to kill one within a minute for a Megalixir.

The second area has Hundlegs and more Evil Eyes that keep respawning. There are two exits: to west and to north. The party should head north first to find Evil Eyes and Bombs. If the party keeps killing them they eventually stop respawning. There's a cave entrance halfway up that leads to the Hidden Cavity.

Hidden Cavity

Hidden Cavity is a safe zone with hiding imperial soldiers and a recovery portal. The cadets can score an item (First Aid Kit) by talking to one of the soldiers. The cadets should return to the previous area and head straight north, down the path that diverges from the main path.

Mt. Nesher Ascent

The area has two Tonberries that can be tricky. They toss their exploding lanterns at the cadets and can inflict Stop, but can drop Anima Lanterns that give Reraise. There is an opening to a cave here.

Hidden Cavity

There are two chests to find here with items (Support Serum and Elixir). The cadets return two areas and take the main path up the mountain where the yellow marker is pointing.

Mt. Nesher Ascent

This area has lots of Bombs with an SO to defeat 12 without help from allies, meaning they cannot damage them, for a Rune Trigger, a weapon for Cater.

Heading west from here places the party at the objective, but because there is more to explore, the player should return to the second area of the mission and this time take the west route to the Mountain Cave.

Mountain Cave

This first area has Tonberries and imperial soldiers who will help the cadets fight them. The second area has more Tonberries alongside some Evil Eyes with an SO to harvest phantoma from a Tonberry for a Regal Armor. The enemies will eventually stop respawning if killed. The party should head south first to find a treasure chest with an item (Support Serum) that spawns Tonberries by the entrance to the area when looted. The cadets can then continue north.

Mountainside

This area has Hundlegs attacking an imperial soldier. The party should help him by defeating them. The cadets should follow the yellow marker to another cave.

Mountain Cave

This area has Tonberries and Bombs. The next area leads to the objective.

Communications Facility

A Sledgefist Giant charges at the cadets, so the player should be ready to dodge. It is best to aim for Breaksight strikes that appear whenever the giant does its body slam attack, as it has a lot of HP. The SO requires the cadets to defeat the giant without any imperial soldiers dying. The player can wait until they are about to defeat the giant before accepting the SO to make it easy.

Defeating the giant completes the mission.

Gla. XXVIII – Mission Under Ceasefire

During the armistice, several imperial troopers stationed in the Nesher Divide fell victim to a series of vicious monster assaults. As it were, a group of cadets were on standby in the imperial capital during the peace talks. Eager to capitalize on this opportunity, the commandant dispatched said cadets to Mt. Nesher on the pretext of assisting the imperial units.

The commandant's true motive, however, was to investigate imperial territory and evaluate the empire's war potential. Dominion Central Command's ostensible objective of aiding the imperial units was merely an ancillary concern. With the extermination of the marauding monsters, the dominion publicly declared the mission a success—and behind closed doors, the commandant rejoiced in gleaning the intel he so desperately sought.
