Mirrorknight is an enemy in Final Fantasy XII found in the Feywood. They rarely drop the Mirror Mail, and chaining them for this drop is a good gil farming opportunity. Four of them are also fought alongside a Dreadguard in the Zodiac versions' Trial Mode Stage 36.

Bestiary entry[]

Being a high rank of bagoly, the armored, flying weapons of war, so effective in combat against enemy soldiers it was honored with knighthood. However, with the advent of airships, the need for its presence on the battlefield decreased, and the old flights were disbanded. Though not disposed of in light of their past contributions, these once-proud warriors of the sky were exiled into the wilds. Having lost reason to fly, they soon lost the ability, and now they crawl along the ground, hunting for prey as any common beast.

Page 2: Tips for the Adventurer[]

There's a good reason why smiths favor scales polished to a mirror finish when making armor. Those who see their own reflection, and the rage burning in their eyes, in mirror scale armor are stricken, unable to move, until their enemy frees them eternally from shame. It is as though they are slain by their own image.

Stats[]

Battle[]

If the party approaches, Mirrorknights will cast Reflect on themselves. When their health depletes, they will cast Curaga, but due to their Reflect status, they will cast it on a character that has the Reflect status to bounce it back to themselves, or cast Reflect on a party member before casting Curaga.

Using physical attacks or magick with Opal Ring equipped works to take care of them. The player can also reflect spells off their own party to bypass the enemy's Reflect; the Mirrorknights drop Mirror Mails (rarely) that make this easy.
