Final Fantasy IX description

Minus Strike (サガク剣 or サガクけん, Sagaku Ken?, lit. Balance Sword), also known as Eye for an Eye (not to be confused with another ability of that name) is a recurring ability in the Final Fantasy series. It deals non-elemental damage to one target equal to the difference in the user's Max HP and current HP.

Final Fantasy IX[]

Minus Strike is an ability usable by Steiner, learned for 35 AP from the Iron Sword, Rubber Helm, and Excalibur II. It deals fixed damage equal to the difference in Steiner's Max HP and current HP to one enemy at the cost of 8 MP.

Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light[]

Eye for an Eye is the level 3 ability of the Dark Fencer class. At the cost of 3 AP, 2x Ruby, 6x Emerald, 6x Topaz, and 1x Amethyst, the user will deal damage to one target equal to the difference in their Max HP and current HP.

Minus Strike is a recurring ability in the Bravely series. Often being associated with the Dark Knight job in most entries. Like its Final Fantasy series counterpart, the ability deals damage to enemies based on the difference in the user's Max HP and current HP.

In the original Bravely Default and Bravely Second, Minus Strike appears command abilities for the Dark Knight job. It costs 16 MP to use in both entries.

Bravely Default II features Minus Strike as a command ability for the Hellblade job. The ability is learned at job level 5. The ability costs 1 BP to use.
