FFT

A monster with the body of a man and the head of a bull. Its gigantic, muscular body makes for devastating attacks.
—Description

Minotaurs are a family of monsters in Final Fantasy Tactics. They are usually the first rather dangerous enemies encountered in the game, due to their high HP and attack power. They wield pickaxes in battle, which the more advanced Minotaurs are able to extract impressive attacks from. Executing non-KO melee attacks against this class of monster is unwise, because a swift counterattack by the Bull Demon will usually deal a hefty amount of damage. Despite the danger involved with fighting them, recruiting a Minotaur is a tempting aspect, as their high physical stats make them effective for a party in need of a powerful melee striker. They are of the Earth element and have a weakness to Water.

Etymology Edit

The Minotaur was a creature from Greek mythology with the head of a bull and the body of a man. He is descended from the union of the Queen of Crete and a white bull. He roamed the Labyrinth, where he hunted and killed a tribute of young men and women until he was slain by Theseus.

In Egyptian mythology, Sekhmet was a blood-thirsty goddess with the head of a lion and the body of a woman in Upper Egypt.
