Mindflayer (Summon)

Mindflayer (マインドフレイア, Maindofureia), also known as Mage or Mind Flayer, is a recurring summon as well as a recurring enemy. In all of its appearances as a summon, it also appears as an enemy.

Mindflayer, also known as Mage and Mind Flayer, is an unlockable Eidolon in Final Fantasy IV. The Mindflayer enemy has a small chance of dropping an item which teaches Rydia this summon. When summoned into battle, the Mindflayer may paralyze the enemy.
[edit] Final Fantasy IV: The After Years
The Mindflayer appears again in the sequel, Final Fantasy IV: The After Years. Just like its first appearance, the Mindflayer item can be obtained from the enemy which can be used to teach Rydia the Eidolon.
