The Mardu Entite is an enemy in the game Final Fantasy XII. It is the Lightning-elemental Entite, and is found in the Toam Hills on the Giza Plains during the Rains; specifically during thunderstorms when the player can see lightning amongst the rainclouds. Also it is fought in the International Zodiac Job System trial mode at stage 74 along with 4 Storm Elementals.

Bestiary EntryEdit

Page 1: ObservationsEdit

Tales of the people speak oft of the wrathful gods visiting man with lightning, and the remorseful gods weeping the rain that follows. For this did peasants once light fires, sending smoke up to the heavens in hopes it would cause the eyes of the gods to water, irrigating their crops. Yet these fires did naught but incur once more the gods' wrath, and in a rage, they sent rainless lightning down to blast and scorch those who had offended.
It is said these bolts gave birth to the mardu entite.

Page 2: The Entite PactEdit

How better to quell the lightning's blind rage, to still the mindless roar of her answering thunder, than by drawing a cold veil of ice around it, cold enough to freeze passion itself? So will the dark clouds part and let shine through a light as brilliant as the sun: the light of electrum.

BattleEdit

Mardu entite

Engaging the Mardu Entite.

Like the other Entites, Mardu Entite's attacks consist of Silencega, Sleepga, and Fear, which reduces one character's MP. Its attack spell is Thundaga, which can be protected against by wearing a Rubber Suit. Also, like the other Entites, it is docile, but attacks when provoked or when Magic is used nearby. It should be avoided during the party's first visit to Giza during the wet season, as it is the most powerful Entite offensively along with the Salamand Entite, and it also benefits greatly from the weather effect.

EtymologyEdit

Mardu Entite is named after Marduk. [view  · edit  · purge]Marduk is the Babylonian deity of thunder and lightning.
