The Mandrake is a Commando. It has a varied skillset, and learns the rare Area Sweep command early on its development. Its crystarium development is heavily geared towards increasing Strength. Unfortunately, stat development is very slow at early levels, and its final stats do not compare favorably to other level 99 monsters.

Etymology

Mandrake is another name for the mandragora genus of plants. [view · edit · purge]Mandragora is a plant belonging to the nightshade family. According to legends surrounding witchcraft, when mandragoras (Mandrake plants) are uprooted, they emit a piercing scream which kills all who hear it.
