Mandrake (マンドレイク, Mandoreiku?), also known as Plant Man, is a recurring type of enemy in the Final Fantasy series. They appear as plant-themed enemies and attack with variations of Drain and Vampire to absorb damage and heal themselves. As plants, they are weak to Fire-elemental attacks.

Etymology
Mandrake is another name for the mandragora genus of plants. Mandragora is a plant belonging to the nightshade family. According to legends surrounding witchcraft, when mandragoras (Mandrake plants) are uprooted, they emit a piercing scream which kills all who hear it.
