The Malboro Menace (Worst Malboro in the GBA release) is an enemy in the Advance and Complete Collection versions of Final Fantasy IV. They are merely an upgraded version of the regular Malboro, and can be dealt with in the same manner. It is advised to have Ribbons equipped to prevent the myriad of status ailments they can inflict, and to use strong physical attacks as well as spells such as Flare and Holy. Summoning Bahamut or Leviathan also makes defeating these enemies much easier.

AI scriptEdit

"Malboro" may derive from the Japanese onomatopoeia boro, the sound of an upset stomach. Their name is most likely derived from the Latin and Greek words mal (meaning bad) and boros (meaning breath), a reference to their infamous attack. The name could also be a reference to Marlboro Cigarettes, since the creatures often spew horrid fumes.
