Magus Robe (どうしのローブ, Dōshi no Rōbu?), also known as Mage Robe, Mage's Habit, Magician's Robe, or Tao Robe, is a recurring armor in the series. It is often a mid-ranked or high-ranked robes for mages, though it is more often a low-ranked robe if it is the Mage Robe incarnation, and provides decent Magic Defense, though oftentimes does not provide any other additional bonuses. It also sometimes provides a bonus to Magic.

The Mage Robe is a low-ranked robe for the Freelancer, Onion Knight, White Mage, Black Mage, Scholar, Geomancer, Evoker, Bard, Devout, Magus, Summoner, and Sage Job classes. It provides 13 Defense, 13 Magic Defense, and +1 Intelligence and Mind in the DS version. The NES version grants 9 Defense, 7 Magic Defense, and 7% Evade. Mage Robe is found in Gulgan Gulch and bought in Village of the Ancients and Dwarven Hollows for 2,000 gil.
Final Fantasy IV: The After Years

Mage's Robe is the weakest robe in the game, providing 6 Defense, 5 Magic Defense, 5% Magic Evasion, and +3 Intelligence and Spirit. It can be bought for 2,000 gil in Baron and Troia, or found in Rydia's Challenge Dungeon, the Sylph's Home, or in the Lodestone Cavern while playing as Palom.

The Magus Robe, originally called Tao Robe, is the strongest robe in the game, providing 68 Defense, 50 Magic Defense, 10% Magic Evasion, and +5 Magic. It can only be used by Strago, Relm, and Gogo, and can be bought in Maranda in the World of Ruin for 13,000 gil.

The Mage's Robe is the high quality version of the Velvet Robe, both equippable by Monks, White Mages, Black Mages, Red Mages, Thieves, Dark Knights, Bards, Rangers, Summoners, Blue Mages, Corsairs, Puppetmasters, Dancers, and Scholars at level 38. The default version, Velvet Robe, only increases Defense by 24, but the Mage's Robe increases Defense by 25, MP by 3, and Intelligence by 1. Both the velvet and mage's robe can only be created via Synthesis.

Mage's Habit is a mid-ranking Mystic Armor that can be equipped after obtaining the Mystic Armor 5 License. It provides +10 MP, +18 Defense, and +6 Magick Power. It can be purchased for 2,500 gil at the Jahara and Mt. Bur-Omisace and is dropped very rarely by the Battery Mimic enemies in Barheim Passage.
In the International Zodiac Job System version, Mage's Habit can be equipped by the White Mage, Red Mage, Black Mage, and Mononofu Jobs.
Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings

Mage's Robes are a low-ranked armor for Kytes, and provides 15 Defense and 30 Magick Defense. They can be bought at the shop for 1,600 gil in Chapter 5, and obtained as a reward for Mission 54.

Magus Robe is a low-ranked robe for magical classes, and provides 17 Defense, 40 Resistance, and teaches the abilities Critical: Quicken to Time Mages for 450 AP and Resistance↑ to Geomancer for 150 AP. It can be bought for 600 Gil in the shop after creating it in the Bazaar after using a Tarkov Crystal, Tiny Mushrooms, and Soft Cotton.
