The Magun, also known as the Demon Gun, is a weapon from the anime Final Fantasy: Unlimited. Attached to the character Kaze's arm, the Magun is an important item, and also one of the series' main focus. His partner, Moogle "upgrades" Kaze's Magun, allowing Kaze to summon stronger versions of his existing summons, e.g. Giga Phoenix instead of just Phoenix. After the events of 12 years ago, the Magun no longer responds to any of Kaze's commands.

Initially, the Magun is "frozen", and cannot be used. Just a giant gold case covering Kaze's arm, if the conditions are right, the Magun will "move". Kaze will then scream "Soil is my power!", which draws in energy from the surrounding area into the Magun, causing it to change shape. It will then resemble a giant gun, still attached to Kaze's arm. The Magun is now "thawed". Kaze himself has no control over this, and as such, he cannot initiate a "thawing" like he once had prior. It would be discovered the "thawing" is linked to Ai and Yu.

The Magun has the ability to summon. By loading the three appropriate soil bullets into the Magun, called the Soil Charge Triad, Kaze has the ability to summon a number of creatures from the Final Fantasy series history. Out of all the summons, only one of them is unique.

Soil is a compound made of the souls of those who sacrifice their lives for the Magun's use. Though Soil appears as fine grains of colored sand, its power can be seen when unleashed in a spiral movement.

The following is a list of all the soils Kaze uses, their description, and which summon they are involved with. There are differences between the English and Japanese versions.

One of the treasures that can be obtained from a Preposition is a Magical Gun. The game describes it as "an ancient pistol believed to be magic, because its bullets contain magical power. Later, bullets containing Summoned monsters were invented."

One of the guns that a Gunner may equip is called the Calling Gun. Its description is a "lost gun of old, once used to summon fabulous beasts." It is the most powerful gun for the Gunner job.
