Magic is part of the second tier of the final boss of Final Fantasy VI, along with Tiger, Machine, and Power. As its name implies, it does almost nothing but cast spells that will harm the party.

Magic is vulnerable to Silence, which will completely disable him for the duration of the battle. Once defeated, however, Silence is "cured", so to speak, and his final counter will hit if it is not avoided via high MBlock.

[edit] Attacks

The spells Magic can perform depend on the amount of HP remaining.

Full HP (phase 1): Bio, Firaga, Poison, Drain, Muddle, Imp, Haste, and Hastega.

Below 30,720 HP (phase 2): Blizzaga, Thundaga, Holy, Flare, Sleep, Stop, Reflect, Slowga, and Auto-Life.

Below 20,096 HP (phase 3): Blizzara, Firaga, Thundaga, Holy, Flare, Rasp, and Mute.

Below 10,240 HP (phase 4): Magic has a 33% chance of countering all damage inflicted with Graviga. Uses the same spells as those in phase 3.

Below 5,120 HP (phase 5): See phase 4, but in this phase, Magic may also use up to two Dispels in a row, along with Quarter.
