The Mage Masher (メイジマッシャー, Meijimasshā) is a recurring weapon in the Final Fantasy series. It is typically a dagger or short sword that inflicts the Silence status ailment as well as damaging the enemy.

The Mage Masher was included in the Dawn of Souls and 20th Anniversary remakes of the game. It can be found in the lower levels of the Whisperwind Cove.

The Mage Masher is a dagger that is found in the Sylph Cave. In the original US release, it was called the Mute Knife.

The Mage Slasher is a dagger that can be purchased in Jachol. It has a chance of inflicting Silence on the target every attack.

The Mage Masher is a weapon for Zidane and teaches the abilities Flee and Detect. It can be purchased in Dali or found in the Ice Cavern. It can also be stolen from Baku in the beginning of the game.

Any of Tidus' swords can become a Mage Masher if it has Silencestrike as its dominant ability, which can be customized by using 20 Silence Grenades. A Mage Masher can be purchased for 120,375 gil at Mt. Gagazet after attaining control of the airship. The Grendel, Malboro Menace, Jormungand, Don Tonberry, Catoblepas, Fenrir, Sleep Sprout, or Catastrophe may drop this weapon.

Kimahri's Mage Hunter and Rikku's Mage Husher are similar both in name and effect.

The Mage Masher is a dagger type weapon that is learned with the Dagger 1 license for 15 LP. It can be purchased in Rabanastre, Bhujerba, Nalbina Fortress, and in Barheim Passage for 700 gil. It can also be found in the North Spur Sluiceway of the Garamsythe Waterway, Op Sector 37 in the Barheim Passage, and the Primary Tank Complex in the Ogir-Yensa Sandsea.

The Mage Masher is a dagger that can be bought in Chapter One after the first battle with Milleuda Folles at the Brigands' Den, though it can be first obtained by stealing it from a Thief in said battle. It is a fairly weak weapon with an Attack stat of only 4, but may occasionally induce the Silence status.

The Mage Masher is a weapon for a Fencer. Rather than inflicting Silence it teaches the skill Manastrike, which will attack MP rather than HP.

The Mage Masher is a rapier for a Fencer, Red Mage, or Elementalist. Each of the abilities it teaches are made to combat enemy mages. Fencers will learn Manastrike, which attacks MP, Red Mages will learn Shell, and Elementalists learn Thunderous Roar, which inflicts Silence, like most Mage Mashers in other games.

The Mage Masher is an artifact which increases the Strength of the character by 1.

Zidane uses his Mage Mashers from Final Fantasy IX, and may fuse them to create "The Ogre", one of his thief swords when he is in Trance. The Mage Masher also appears as a level 22 dagger, which sets the EX gauge to 15% in the beginning of a battle when equipped.
