A final boss (ラスボス, Rasubosu?) is the last boss in the game's main quest. After its defeat, the ending cutscene and credits will play. In some games the player can still do post-ending optional content by loading their save from a completed game file. A common theme among the final bosses is that they wish to destroy all existence and return the world to a state of nothingness.
The final boss is Chaos. When the Warriors of Light killed Garland, the Four Fiends sent him into the past. There, Garland absorbed their power to become Chaos and sent the Fiends of the past into the future, creating a time loop that granted Garland immortality. The Warriors of Light travel back in time to kill the original Four Fiends and ultimately destroy Chaos to close the loop.
The final boss is the Emperor. Having been killed by Firion and his allies, the Emperor was sent to hell, but he conquered the realm and was reborn as the King of Hell. Infiltrating the palace of hell, Pandaemonium, which the Emperor had raised over Palamecia, Firion killed him a second time, destroying his soul.
Soul of RebirthEdit
The final boss is the Emperor of Heaven and the lord of Arubboth. He explains that when Firion and his allies killed him, his soul was split into two. The Emperor's "dark half" fell to Hell and acquired more power, while his light half - the Emperor they now see - ascended to Heaven. Knowing that this Emperor is no different from the other, Minwu, Josef, Scott and Ricard defeated the Light Emperor. As he dies, he tells them the struggles of violence and war will continue as long as humans exist.
The final boss is the Cloud of Darkness. When Xande attempts to destroy the Crystals to freeze time so he would never die, he created an imbalance in light and darkness. This imbalance summoned the Cloud of Darkness, whose sole purpose is to return everything to nothingness when the balance is disrupted.
Though she initially killed the Light Warriors, they were revived and traveled to the World of Darkness, where they team up with the Warriors of the Dark to destroy the Crystals of the other world and destroy the Cloud of Darkness, restoring balance.
The final boss is Zeromus. After Golbez and Fusoya combined their powers to destroy Zemus, his hatred for them and the people of the earth manifested as Zeromus, a being of pure malice. Cecil and his allies, empowered by the prayers and hopes of those on earth, use a Crystal to force Zeromus into a corporeal state and destroy him. However, Zeromus claims he cannot die, for he will exist as long as hatred lurks in the hearts of men.
The final boss is Rydia?. Appearing within the Sealed Cave, Cecil and his allies mistake her for the real Rydia and take her to the Tower of Babil, where she gains the power to summon Rydia's Eidolons and then vanishes. Followed further up the tower she is revealed as an imposter by Edge and attacks the party with the Eidolons, eventually calling Bahamut. However, the real Rydia arrives to call Bahamut to his senses with the Mist Dragon, and the group defeat her.
Unbeknownst to the party the fake Rydia was the first Maenad, and her success prompts the Creator to mass-produce the Maenads in Rydia's image with the power of Black Magic and the art of summoning as she has.
The final boss is the Creator. It occupies the True Moon, which it utilizes as a vessel for interstellar travel. Concerned about whether or not evolution was a necessity and wishing to conduct experiments regarding the evolution of life, it created a host of Crystals capable of recording the history of a world and distributed them upon planets which held the promise of life, including the Blue Planet. It has since deemed the races of the Blue Planet failures and returned to reclaim the Crystals and exterminate all life on the planet.
The party confronts the Creator in a multitude of forms as its life support systems eventually malfunction and cause it to mutate and lose control of its senses. After the Creator's defeat, the party flees the True Moon as he attempts to destroy them, the Maenads aiding in their escape, and the True Moon departs the planet in peace.
The party first engages Exdeath in his true form as an evil, sentient tree, and upon his defeat Exdeath is consumed by the Void and transforms into Neo Exdeath. Upon his destruction the two generations of the Warriors of Dawn recreate the Crystals and the Void can again be sealed away.
The final boss is Kefka. Using the power of the Warring Triad, Kefka shifted the planet into the World of Ruin, destroying the world as its people knew it and ruling over civilization's ashes as a god. Deciding that the fate of all life is to be destroyed, Kefka makes it his goal to destroy the planet and all life on it.
The party first battles the Statue of the Gods, nine enemies divided among three tiers, in sequential order. After they are defeated, the party battles Kefka himself. With his destruction, the source of magic is gone and Magicite, Espers and magic vanish from the restored World of Balance.
The final boss is Safer∙Sephiroth. After using the Black Materia to call Meteor to hit the planet, Sephiroth prepares to absorb the Lifestream and become a god. The party descends into the Northern Cave and enters the planet's core where Sephiroth is containing Holy, the only force strong enough to stop Meteor and save the planet, to kill him and release Holy so it can do its work.
The player must first fight Jenova∙SYNTHESIS, the final Jenova spawn, before being drawn into the deepest part of the cave to engage Sephiroth as Bizarro∙Sephiroth. When it is defeated Safer∙Sephiroth emerges. After Safer∙Sephiroth is defeated, there is one final battle against Sephiroth fought one-on-one with Cloud, but is largely a scripted encounter and cannot be lost.
The final boss is Zirconiade. A so-called "Ultimate Summon", Zirconiade can only be summoned with four support Materia, in the meantime draining the life energy of AVALANCHE's leader Elfe, who had Zirconiade's Materia implanted in her hand by Professor Hojo. Fuhito, AVALANCHE's scientist, plans to use Zirconiade to eradicate all life on the planet and return their energy to the Lifestream so it can heal from Shinra's damaging influence.
With the combined efforts of the Turks, their former leader Veld, and Elfe's second-in-command Shears, the Turks gather the four support Materia, which are seized by Fuhito. Attempting to summon Zirconiade, Fuhito offers his own body as a sacrifice, transforming from the power surge from Zirconiade. With Fuhito killed, AVALANCHE enters a pocket dimension Zirconiade is emerging from and destroy it, saving the planet.
The final boss is Omega Weiss. When Deepground kills many innocents to call the strongest Weapon, Omega, it appears over Midgar. Believing the mass deaths are a sign the planet is dying, Omega prepares to gather the Lifestream and depart into space, leaving the planet a lifeless husk.
Omega was taken over by Weiss, the Deepground commander. Vincent Valentine, a human with the power of Chaos, goes inside the Weapon to fight Weiss directly. Vincent defeats them both, destroying Omega and saving the planet.
The final boss is Genesis Rhapsodos. Orchestrating a war against Shinra with Dr. Hollander to stop his degradation and find a cure for his condition, Genesis eventually retreats to the ruins of Banora where the Gift of the Goddess is found, which he believes is the cure he needs.
Channeling the power of a massive Materia deep in the Banora Underground, Genesis becomes Genesis Avatar, and upon being defeated is restored to his normal form. Human and cured of his degradation, Genesis challenges Zack to a final duel, and is struck down. There is a final enemy encounter after the battle, but it is scripted and the player's actions do not affect the outcome, so the battles with Genesis are the final challenge.
The final boss is Ultimecia. Manipulating the events of the present from the future to find Ellone and enact Time compression, Ultimecia's ultimate desire is to absorb all time and space and become an omnipotent god. The party uses Ellone's power and Ultimecia's magic to enact and stall Time compression, and they make their way into the future and arrive at her castle.
The player first battles Ultimecia in normal human form, and when defeated she summons Griever to battle the party. When Griever is defeated Ultimecia junctions herself to it, creating a hybrid of the two. When this fusion of Ultimecia and Griever is defeated, Ultimecia herself in her final form is fought. With her defeat, the timestream is restored and the party escapes back to their own time as Time compression ends.
The final boss is Necron. Distraught over his mortality and unwilling to let life continue without him, Kuja intends to destroy the Crystal that is the source of all life deep within Memoria. Necron takes this as evidence that all life exists only to die, and mankind is ready to accept this truth and return to nothingness, where they will not know the fear and despair that drove Kuja to such extreme lengths.
Hades was originally planned to be the final boss, but was changed to an optional boss later in development. The concept artwork at right of the final battlefield shows the party fighting Hades instead of Necron.
The final boss is considered to be Braska's Final Aeon. The party enters Sin with intent to find Yu Yevon's spirit inside, which possesses any Final Aeon to destroy Sin and transforms it into a new Sin in an endless cycle. With the destruction of Yu Yevon, the party plans to bring about an Eternal Calm.
The player first engages Braska's Final Aeon, the most recent Final Aeon to become Sin, formed from Jecht ten years ago. With Jecht's death Yu Yevon begins seeking a new host. The player must summon Yuna's aeons one by one, allowing Yu Yevon to possess them and then killing them. With all possible aeon vessels gone, Yu Yevon himself is fought as the game's final battle. With his defeat, Sin is destroyed for good and Spira's cycle of death ends.
While Yu Yevon is the final encounter, the battle with him and the preceding aeon battles have the party under permanent Auto-Life, and Yu Yevon's focus on Gravija to attack makes him almost entirely unable to kill the party.
The final boss is Shuyin. A tormented spirit from Zanarkand a thousand years ago, Shuyin attempted to activate Bevelle's ultimate machina Vegnagun to end the war between Zanarkand and Bevelle before his lover Lenne was forced to fight.
The both of them killed, Shuyin remained as an unsent, his grief and hatred twisting his mind, and he came to desire to use Vegnagun to destroy all of Spira and end humanity's constant fighting and struggles. Fought deep in the Farplane after destroying Vegnagun, the Gullwings defeat Shuyin, and Lenne's spirit appears to him to soothe him and finally allow him to rest in peace.
The original final boss is the Shadow Lord. Residing in Castle Zvahl, the Shadow Lord commands all the Beastmen to attack the three civilized nations, thus beginning the Crystal War. In truth he was a Galkan Talekeeper named Raogrimm, manipulated by the two Zilart princes and mysterious black magicite. As the heroes defeat him after his resurrection, he returns to his senses and apologizes for the chaos he has caused. However, the Zilart princes appear and summon the Ark Angels to kill him and the player.
Raogrimm then sacrifices himself to give the heroes enough time to escape. He is later met again in the dark world Dynamis, where he has once again been transformed into a being of destruction, the Dynamis Lord, under the influence of the dimension's dark energy. The player defeats him and he vows to become the protector of Dynamis for eternity, to ensure none of its creatures escape into the real world.
The Shadow Lord can also be fought as part of the Campaign in the past, where he is at his full strength and wears a suit of darksteel armor.
The final boss is Eald'narche. Wanting to open the gates to paradise, he tries to stop anyone who would hinder his plans. Eldest of the two Zilart princes, he uses his mind reading abilities and started the Crystal War by manipulating the Shadow Lord, eventually using his memories to awaken the floating shrine Tu'Lia. He is defeated when he attempts to open the gates to paradise, which would in effect destroy Vana'diel.
Rise of the Zilart also expanded the national campaigns from the original in different directions after defeating the Shadow Lord. The final bosses of these expanded campaigns are Zeid for Bastok, Warlord Rojgnoj for San d'Oria, and Tatzlwurm and Yali for Windurst.
The final boss is Promathia. The Twilight God, he is chained and bound, completing his reign when Nag'molada, a Kuluu who longs to become a Zilart, wishes to learn the truth of creation. Defeated with the combined efforts of Prishe, Ulmia, Selh'teus, and others.
The final boss is Alexander. A massive Avatar summoned to bring the empire into a state of peace; however it was fated to duel with Odin, the Dark Divinity, and bring about Ragnarok. This cataclysmic threat was ultimately stopped when Grand Vizier Razfahd held back Alexander, and the Corsair Prince Luzaf restrained Odin, sending the two beings back to their realm.
The final boss is Lilith Ascendant. Lady Lilith is the custodian of the true Vana'diel where the Crystal War still wages on. She aims to stop the goddess Altana from using Atomos to erase her reality from existence and replace it with a more peaceful Vana'diel where the war is over (the player's world). She transforms into Lilith Ascendant after absorbing the power of a Champion of the Dawn from Lilisette, her alternate self from the player's dimension.
The final boss is Hades.
The final boss is the Seed Crystal. A sentient crystal from ages past, it was drawn to the world by the ancient song Memoro de la Ŝtono resonating within Emeline's heart. As the song itself prophesies destruction, the Seed Crystal seeks to return Vana'diel to the darkness from which it was born. It was banished by both the efforts of the player and the song's antiphon, the Ode of Life Bestowing, through the peoples' will to live.
The final boss is Riko Kupenreich. A notorious loan shark, the player's mog house moogle had to take out a loan to cover fees. It was later revealed that he had come into contact with magicite, and entered into a deal with a corrupt real estate owner in a plot to gain ownership of all Mog Houses.
After Shantotto attempted to perfect a spell for inter-dimensional travel, she was drawn into another dimension with
the Shantotto of that realm crossing over to take her place while being splintered into two beings: Domina Shantotto and Belle Shantotto. Forming an army of Tarutaru to conquer Vana'diel and turn everyone into a Shantotto-clone, the two halves are stopped by the realm's true Shantotto and are convinced to return to their dimension to preserve the order of things.
The final boss of the final content update, the Cloud of Darkness, is the ultimate final boss for the entire game, with the end credits playing after its demise. Due to Promathia's destruction, despite Vana'diel's attempt to balance itself without the God of Twilight, the Cloud attacks the world in the near-future. It is only after Iroha travels back in time to seek out the Adventurer to change history that it becomes possible to face and defeat the Cloud of Darkness in physical form.
The final boss is The Undying. Using the knowledge provided by Venat to manufacture nethicite, the Archadian Empire and Vayne conquer the Kingdom of Dalmasca and set their sights on the rest of Ivalice, antagonizing the neighboring Rozarrian Empire. The party confronts Vayne aboard his warship the Sky Fortress Bahamut to end the battle between the Archadian fleet and the resistance, which Rozarria would use as a pretense to declare war on Archadia.
The party first fights Gabranth, and after his defeat engages Vayne. When Vayne is wounded he transforms into Vayne Novus, summoning Sephira to aid him in battle. When Vayne Novus is defeated, Venat merges with Vayne's dying body to become The Undying. With Vayne and Venat destroyed, Basch, Princess Ashe, and Vayne's brother, Larsa, convince the Archadians and the resistance to cease their fighting, narrowly averting a second war.
The final boss is Feolthanos Exultant. The self-proclaimed god of the aegyl, he refused to submit to the Occuria and took his people to the floating city of Lemurés, sealing them off from the rest of Ivalice to avoid Occurian rule. When the Sun-Cryst was destroyed and the barrier around the city fell, Feolthanos used the Judge of Wings as a pawn to conquer Ivalice. When the party discovered Feolthanos's true intentions, they turned their attention to him and destroyed him, freeing the aegyl from his control.
The final boss is Orphan, the slumbering fal'Cie and the power source that keeps Cocoon afloat. It shares its ideology with Barthandelus in which one of the six l'Cie would become Ragnarok and kill Orphan, causing Cocoon to lose power and fall out of the sky, so that all of its inhabitants are sacrificed to force Etro's gate open for the fal'Cie to be reunited with the Maker.
The player fights Barthandelus, and upon his defeat his body is assimilated onto Orphan as a protective shell. With this shell destroyed and Orphan's attempts to make Fang and Vanille become Ragnarok failed, Orphan itself is engaged. Upon its destruction, Cocoon falls but Fang and Vanille become Ragnarok and halt its collapse, saving the populace.
The final boss is Jet Bahamut, Caius Ballad's transformed state once absorbing much chaos in his body, spawning Garnet Bahamut and Amber Bahamut to assist him. Defeating the Bahamuts earns the player the "Epic Finisher" achievement/trophy, and achieving a 5-star rating earns the "Chronosavior" achievement/trophy.
Player first fights Caius as Chaos Bahamut and in his normal form above Academia. Caius then opens a portal to Valhalla and he is then fought on a beach of Valhalla. After being injured by Noel, Chaos starts seeping to Caius and he transforms into Jet Bahamut. Although Caius is defeated, the Heart of Chaos in his chest is destroyed afterwards, causing the goddess Etro to die and the world to be consumed by chaos.
The final boss is Bhunivelze, the deity who created the fal'Cie and the world Final Fantasy XIII takes place in. Having used Lightning to gather souls for him, Bhunivelze plots to remake humanity, the product of his wayward creation Etro, to his design for the new world he created.
The battle against Bhunivelze has four consecutive phases, him becoming more powerful after each phase, until he is finally defeated. He can also be fought as Bhunivelze+ on Hard Mode. In that battle, there is only two phases, but the battle is a lot harder.
The final boss of the 1.0 version was Nael Deus Darnus, Legatus of the 7th Garlean legion, who tried to summon the ancient magick of Meteor to bring down Dalamud over Eorzea and "purify" it of its sin.
Corrupted by the moon's light, the Legatus became increasingly more violent and insane, and was engulfed by its light after being defeated by a group of adventurers, becoming a being of pure hatred known as Nael Deus Darnus. The adventurers defeated Nael's powerful new form, but it was not enough to stop Dalamud's descent, which culminated in the release of the primal Bahamut, ushering the Seventh Umbral Era.
The final boss of the main story of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is Lahabrea, a member of the immortal Ascians who have masterminded many of the tragic events in Hydaelyn's history prior to manipulating the actions of Gaius Van Baelsar, fought at the end of the Praetorium. After Gaius and Ultima Weapon are defeated, Lahabrea attempts to kill the player party, but is defeated instead.
During the battle against Lahabrea, the player party receives a powerful blessing from the Mothercrystal which makes the fight considerably easier than the three battles preceding it, as Lahabrea has limited attack range and power as well as a lower HP total compared to the previous bosses, making the Ultima Weapon that last notable challenge of the story. However, unlike previous "scripted" final battles such as Yu Yevon, it is still possible, albeit unlikely, to lose this fight.
The final boss of the expanded storyline of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn prior to Heavensward content is Vishap, a colossal dragon who leads Nidhogg's brood to attack the city state of Ishgard. Vishap must be defeated before it destroys the gate at the end of the Steps of Faith, which will result in defeat. Players must use the dragonkiller cannons lining the bridge to help bring the dragon down in time, as their own damage output will be insufficient. Unlike most final bosses, Vishap's battle serves as a transition to Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward storyline rather than bring any form of closure to the plot.
The final bosses are King Thordan and his Knights Twelve. When Archbishop Thordan VII absorbs the soul of Thordan I, he transforms into the primal King Thordan, and his personal guard, the Heavens' Ward, transform into Thordan's Knights Twelve.
King Thordan and the Knights Twelve are heavily based on the Knights of the Round summon from Final Fantasy VII. The Knights Twelve wear armor and use abilities similar to those seen in the summon, while King Thordan uses an attack called Knights of the Round throughout the fight, before using the signature Ultimate End as a last ditch attack towards the end.
The final proper boss of Heavensward's expanded storyline is The Griffin, a masked Ala Mhigan revolutionary who is revealed to be Ilberd Feare, who betrayed the Scions of the Seventh Dawn and lead the Crystal Braves mutiny back in A Realm Reborn. He fights the Warrior of Light and their companions to the death atop Baelsar's Wall. He taunts the heroes throughout the fight while using his swordsmanship and magical abilities. After his defeat, Illberd has his own soldiers killed and commits suicide in order to use their lifeforce and his men's dying prayers of desperation as part of the summoning ritual of Shinryu.
Another battle against a brutish scout of the Garlean Empire named Grynewaht takes place after the fight with the Griffin. However, this fight is mostly scripted as neither he, nor his men pose much of a threat against the Warrior of Light, their allies, and a magetek armor loaned to the Warrior to take care of the troops.
The final boss is Ardyn, who in reality is Ardyn Lucis Caelum, a former resident of Lucis who was once chosen by the Astrals. Now he is an immortal tainted by the power of daemons who was denied ascension. After Noctis and his friends defeat Ifrit with the help of Bahamut and Shiva, they go to the throne room of the Citadel where they confront Ardyn. Ardyn incapacitates Noctis's friends and the two duel one another alone. As they are, at one point, blessed as Chosen Ones, this is a battle of kings.
Ardyn can use almost the same abilities as Noctis, having the same weapons, warp-strike and Armiger abilities (although with a magenta-red glow as opposed to Noctis's blue), along with his dark, daemonic powers. The battle is set in three phases, with the last phase being a final clash of swords. Noctis finishes Ardyn off with the Sword of the Father.
The final boss of the game is the Lucavi Ultima, the High Seraph. Ultima's revival is ultimately the true reason behind the War of the Lions conflict that take place during the events of 'Tactics'. After being revived by Hashmal, Ultima immediately begins to kill the heretics. Ramza and his friends and allies fight back though, and eventually kill the Angel of Blood. She dies in an explosion, apparently killing Ramza and co. in the process. However, Ramza is seen later by Orran, relieving the Astrologer.
The final boss is Li-Grim. The pure form of everyone's wishes for the dream Ivalice, Li-Grim is the final thread of dream Ivalice. By defeating her, Marche can return home. Once defeated, the party must wish for the world to return to normal, taking all they've learned in Ivalice with them.
The final boss is the Neukhia. After defeating Illua once and for all, her grimoire summons this immense beast in full, which Luso and his friends must defeat. The Neukhia is comprised of three parts: the Pod, the Wisp, and the Core (pictured).
The final boss is Romeo Guildenstern, the leader of the Order of the Crimson Blades that launched an attack upon Leá Monde. Through his greed for power, he stole the Blood-Sin from Sydney Losstarot and sacrificed his love, Lady Samantha. After being defeated by Ashley Riot, Guildenstern transforms into a monstrous angelic creature at the top of Grand Cathedral.
The final boss is the Rursan Arbiter. It is the dead body of Cid Aulstyne, the Marshal of the Militesi Empire, possessed and transformed by Gala. After escaping from Ingram following Rubrum's successful liberation of Orience and the beginning of Tempus Finis, Cid travels to Pandæmonium and commits suicide as a final act of defiance to the gods. Gala possesses his body and places several trials for Class Zero, who are on their way to defeat him, but one by one, they all fall to his power.
However, the spirits of Machina Kunagiri and Rem Tokimiya manage to give each member of Class Zero the strength to continue and release the phantoma from the Rursan Arbiter's body, defeating it once and for all.
The final boss is Memiroa. The sadistic, metaphysical monster Raem feeds off the memories of suffering which the monsters spawned by the miasma produce, creating a never-ending cycle of pain and torment for the world's inhabitants. Rather than accept defeat and fade away, Raem forcibly merges with Lady Mio, becoming Memiroa, and attempts to annihilate the Tipa Caravanners once and for all. He is slain and disintegrates, but he and Lady Mio will be reborn eventually.
The final boss is the Lunite King, Great Galdes. With the power of the Great Crystal, Galdes intends to remake the world, and meets the heroes with his abilities to send them to other dimensions. Ultimately, he becomes a victim of his own power, forever trapped between dimensions.
The final boss is the Dark Lord. After he is defeated by the adventurers he reappears before Leo and tries to take him to the land of the dead with him. However, after realizing how all his people are willingly trying to protect their king, he releases Leo. He is finally vanquished to the crystal where his heart resides.
Afterwards, Larkeicus revives, saying that as long as he has Sherlotta, and thus, the Crystals, he can never die. The young girl Sherlotta rises up, chokes Larkeicus, and summons the Crystal Core. The Hero destroys it, and then, in its explosion, it disintegrates Larkeicus, and warps the Tower out of existence.
The final boss is King Leo. He defended his realm from the attack led by Mira. Once he is defeated the new darklord announces the cancellation of her world conquer campaign, and instead ask Leo to join in her new campaign to bring peace between people and monster.
The final boss is Jegran. When Princess Althea is rescued and the Yuke Crystal resurrected, Jegran uses his powers augmented by the Crystal Reactors aboard the Alexis and fused onto it from the waist down, turning the battleship into the means by which he will create a new Crystal Principle.
However, Layle's powers are also magnified by the proximity of the reactor, using his powers to rip the ship apart bit by bit before destroying the Core of the reactor to restore both combatants to their normal forms.
The final boss is Julius, a wizard who was found by the waterfall and adopted by the emperor of Glaive known only as Dark Lord. After taking full command of Glaive Empire after Dark Lord's death, Julius was defeated by Sumo and Fuji, the latter of whom opted to become the new Tree of Mana.
The final boss is the Dark King. An undead menace monitoring the world from his perch at Doom Castle, the Dark King is the one who ordered the Vile Four to begin their assault on the world. He was met with resistance by Benjamin and Phoebe.
He revealed to them the Prophecy was a rumor spread by him centuries ago, and attacked them in a myriad of forms: a human form, a multiple-armed form, a spider-like form, and a squid-like form. He was ultimately brought down, as his fake prophecy foretold.
The final boss is the Creator. An odd, manipulative deity claiming to be the creator of the world, it sent the heroes on their quest to defeat Ashura and its Four Holy Beasts. After defeating the beasts in their tower, the Creator itself appeared at the top, explaining that their adventure had been nothing but a test. Enraged at being used so, the heroes turned on the Creator.
The final boss is the Arsenal. After the fall of the villain Apollo, who hoped to possess all the MAGI to become a god, the whole Celestial World begins to shake, and the heroes are informed by Isis that the Celestial World is about to break apart, severing all worlds connected to it, so the party go to the center of the world along with Isis and confront Arsenal, the security system. There are two units; Isis fights one, while the party take down the other. Afterward the tremors stop, the party return to the First World, and Isis remains at the center the world to repair the damage done to Celestial World.
The final boss is Xagor. He is a time-traveling creature who controls the Pureland Water, an aquarian entity that he uses to cause destruction in the past to ensure a chaotic future. Four teenagers, the humans Arthur and Sharon and the mutants Curtis and Gloria are sent back in time to stop him.
After defeating Chaos's Demons and restoring light to the world, the Star Chamber appears where the party meet Chaos. He establishes that humans are pitiful wretches and he is going to destroy them all. Chaos then destroys the crystal in an attempt to destroy all of Time and Space and so destroying all the hopes of humanity. After its defeat, Chaos says that if evil exists on human hearts so will he. Chaos is battled in three forms.
The final boss is Ouroboros, an ancient and powerful demon residing in the Dark Aurora, a realm beyond worlds. His servant, Airy, travels from each version of Luxendarc to the next by awakening the crystals in those worlds, opening a portal known as the Holy Pillar. This not only connects them, but weakens their boundaries, allowing her master to consume those worlds and grow in power. Ouroboros plans on accumulating enough power to invade the Celestial Realm and eventually conquer it and all of existence, but Tiz Arrior and his friends reach the Dark Aurora and confront him.
In the alternate final chapter, Airy herself is instead confronted as the final boss. After slaying the party in one of the temples following Agnès's destruction of one of the crystals, she retreats to the Dark Aurora where she plans on staying and waiting for the destroyed crystal to regenerate, so she can resume her plan. However, Tiz and his friends chase and confront her.
The final boss is Providence, a being that took over the Celestial Realm.
Chaos Elgo is the final boss. When Elgo desired the Crystals to become a living god, he attempted to master the Power of Nil to travel between the halves of the splintered world. However, the Nil consumes Elgo, transforming him into a monstrous shapeshifter.
The final boss is Chaos, the God of Discord. At the last cycle of Conflict, after her warriors obtained their crystals, he seemingly kills Cosmos and causes World B to descend into a path towards utter disorder.
Regaining his lost memories from before entering the realm as a result of the balance shattered, Chaos decides to destroy everything and reduce World B to a form of "true" chaos where all existence is denied. However, Cosmos's warriors journey to Chaos's throne at the Edge of Madness and defeat the god, allowing them to return to their worlds while the Warrior of Light ends up in World A where the gods originated from.
The final battle in the new storyline pits the player against a gauntlet of Chaos's elite warriors. After learning the full extent of the threat posed by the manikins, Lightning, Vaan, Laguna, Tifa and Yuna embark on a mission to find the portal to the Interdimensional Rift the creatures are using to cross into the world, intent on sealing it before they are overwhelmed.
At the Empyreal Paradox the group is headed off by Garland, The Emperor, Kefka, Ultimecia and the Cloud of Darkness. The final string of battles consists of Vaan vs Kefka, Tifa vs Ultimecia, Yuna vs The Emperor, Laguna vs the Cloud of Darkness, and finally Lightning vs Garland. Following their failure to defeat their enemies the Warriors of Chaos retreat, and along with Exdeath's own flawed attempt to do away with Kain, Garland's group falls back as Lightning and her comrades sacrifice themselves to seal the portal, stopping the flow of manikins.
The final boss is Chaos. Disrupting the flow of music from the Music Crystal existing in the Rhythm between him and Cosmos, the Warriors of Light set out to gather Rhythmia to restore the crystal's light.
Upon the player collecting 10,000 Rhythmia, Chaos appears and attacks them, using the music "Chaos Shrine" in the location of the same name for the fight. With Chaos defeated and the Rhythmia granted to the Music Crystal, its light shines again and music is restored to the world. It is possible to fight Chaos again in a high level Dark Note.
