List of Final Fantasy VII Achievements
Talk8this wiki
The following is a list of achievements unlockable in the PC version Square Enix Store re-release of Final Fantasy VII.
The player's achievements are loaded in the "achievement.dat" file, found in a folder with the user's ID, within a "FINAL FANTASY VII" folder, within a "Square Enix" folder which is found in My Documents by default. The file is a seventy-two bit file: 36 bits relate to the achievements, while the others appear to serve no purpose. The achievement order corresponds to the bit, with the first (End of Part I) corresponding to the eightieth bit, then each achievement thereafter is the previous bit, down until the last (Dice) which corresponds to the forty-fifth bit. If the player were to edit this file in a hex-editor and change it to read "0000000fffffffff00" the player can receive all achievements. However this will only save to the system if the edits are made while in the game.

| Master Materia | ![]() ![]() ![]() | Reach the maximum level of any Materia. | |
| Master of Gil | ![]() ![]() ![]() | 99,999,999 Gil. | This is a difficult feat without save-editing. The Character Booster will only give the player 49,999,999 Gil. It is possible to use Character Booster, invest Gil in items and Materia, then use Character Booster again, and sell the items and Materia to gain more Gil. Without the Character Booster, the easiest way is to master and sell All materias (worth 1,400,000 gil each; 71 are needed to get 99,400,000 gil). |

| Catastrophe | ![]() ![]() ![]() | Get Barret's last Limit Break. | |
| Chaos | ![]() ![]() ![]() | Get Vincent's last Limit Break. | |
| Great Gospel | ![]() ![]() ![]() | Get Aeris's last Limit Break. | "Aeris's" is replaced by "Aerith's" on the website. This is missable on a playthrough if the player does not obtain the limit manual before the Temple of the Ancients events and learn it before fighting Demons Gate. |

Trivia
Edit
- If you beat the game, you will have gotten the following 7 achievements automatically at some point during the story: Won 1st Battle, Battle Square, End of Part I, Diamond Weapon, End of Part II, Omnislash, End of Game (It would also be difficult to beat the game without gaining the 7 achievements for the first limit breaks of the required characters.)
- The achievement notification for End of Part I will appear when the game internally sets the main story variable to after Aeris's death, causing it to obscure part of the video of Cloud putting her body to rest.
- The achievements for characters' final limit breaks are obtained simply by learning the limit by using the limit manual items in the menu, not by actually using the limit break in battle.
- The conditions for the Materia Overlord achievement will only be checked after a battle in which an Enemy Skill is learned. This is likely due to the Pandora's Box enemy skill performed by the Dragon Zombie, which would normally be encountered after the point of no return at the bottom of the Northern Cave. This Enemy Skill will only be used once per save file, so it was probably assumed that the player would finish mastering all materia with Pandora's Box. This is an incorrect assumption since Dragon Zombies can be encountered rarely in one other place before this point of no return. If Pandora's Box is learned before this point, it is possible to meet the achievement requirements and not obtain the achievement. To rectify this, simply learn any other unlearned enemy skill (potentially on another enemy skill materia). However, the achievement can be missed even with the requirements met if all other Enemy Skill materias have no other enemy skills that can be learned.
