The following is a list of weapons available in Final Fantasy Type-0. Weapons primarily increase a character's Strength, although a few select weapons will increase other stats or add status effects to a character's regular attack. Characters must have a weapon equipped at all times; if there are no other weapons in the inventory, then the current weapon cannot be removed.
Each character has weapons that can be obtained through one of the following ways:
- Purchase in weapon shops at the Sixth Arms Research Institute, Rokol, Cetme, Roshana, Bazz, and Amiter. In the case of the Arms Institute, each character has a total of three weapons available for purchase, however the other two must be unlocked after fulfilling certain conditions (the character must have participated in missions 200 times, and a certain mission must be cleared on Impossible Mode).
- Reward for clearing a mission, or completing a Special Order.
- Treasure chests in the Bethnels Limestone Cave. All items have a random chance of being picked as treasure, and the player may possibly find strong weapons or only their most basic weapons.
- Purchase in the SPP Shop. SPP can only be gained through playing in Multiplayer Mode, thus these weapons cannot be obtained normally with gil in the game.
- Defeat Gilgamesh with one solo character, who will yield that character's ultimate weapon as a reward. A black portal will appear in one of four locations on the World Map, which will generate a one-on-one battle with a randomly selected character. This sub-event is unlocked after completing Mission 7-Crimson in the second playthrough (so in other words, the player must wait until the third playthrough and after gaining access to all four locations before beginning this sub-event).
- Exchange for tickets on the Square-Enix Members Site.
