*Dark Knight in the original PlayStation version was not a generic job, but rather a special job unique to the guest character, Goffard Gaffgarion. In the The War of the Lions version, however, his job name changed to being a Fell Knight to distinguish it from the generic Dark Knight job.
Special Jobs
These jobs are available as a controllable character after acquiring them along the storyline's progression or as a sidequest. Their special job replace the base Squire job.

*First Available as a Guest is defined as having the capability to modify the equipment and abilities of the character in between battle sessions. However, as party guests, the player cannot control them in battle, nor can they have them participate in non-storyline battles. Joins is defined as being able to add the character to the party and fully control the character in any battle.

Guest Jobs
These jobs are only available as guests to the party. While one can modify their equipment and skills to some extent, they cannot be controlled and only appears during storyline battles and they don't appear during random encounters. Template:Gallery

Other Jobs
The following jobs are story related jobs used during the cut scenes, it serves no purpose in battle as the majority of them possess no action abilities associated with the job. Curious to say, the developers did take time to give them a job description. Template:Gallery
Trivia
- There's an Action Ability called Esper that belongs to a Nether Shaman (PSP translation)/Hell Magician (PS translation) job, a job that doesn't exist.
