The following is a list of items the player's character can use in Final Fantasy Mystic Quest.

[edit] Menu Items

Menu items are bought or found in small chests, and are used in battle and on the field. The player can hold up to 99 of each menu item.

Item Effect
Cure PotionRestores HP to target.
Heal PotionRemoves status ailments from target.
RefresherRemoves status decreases/increases from target.
SeedRestores target's MP to full.

[edit] Key Items

Key items are either found or given by NPCs and are used automatically under the correct circumstances.

Item Effect
Captain's CapGiven by Kaeli, give to Captain Mac.
ElixirGiven by Tristam after completing the Bone Dungeon, used to cure Kaeli.
Magic MirrorFound inside the Ice Pyramid, reveals invisible monster in the Ice Pyramid.
MaskFound on the slopes of the Volcano, reveals monsters hidden in the gas on the Volcano slopes.
Multi-KeyGiven by Tristam in Fireburg, used to unlock Reuben's father's friend's door.
Thunder RockGiven by Reuben's father, used to power up Otto's Rainbow Bridge machine.
Tree WitherGiven by an old man in the Level Forest, used to convince Kaeli to help the player.
Venus KeyGiven by Spencer, used to unlock the chest containing the Venus Shield in the Focus Tower.
WakewaterGiven by the Crystal of Light in Libra Temple, used to unthaw a plant in Aquaria.

[edit] Crests

Each type of crest allows the corresponding type of warp panel to be used. Collecting all the crests is not needed to complete the game.

Item Effect
Libra CrestFound in the Wintry Cave after defeating Squidite. Allows Libra Panels to be used.
Gemini CrestFound in a Battlefield near Fireburg. Allows Gemini Panels to be used.
Mobius CrestFound in Spencer's Place via the Rainbow Bridge access. Allows Mobius Panels to be used.

The Coins each unlock a door in the Focus Tower.

Item Effect
Sand CoinThe Sand Coin is guarded by the Skullrus Rex and opens the Earth Door.
River CoinThe River Coin is guarded by the Ice Golem and opens the Water door.
Sun CoinThe Sun Coin is guarded by the Dualhead Hydra and opens the Fire door.
Sky CoinThe Sky Coin is guarded by Pazuzu and opens the Air door.
