IX The following is a list of items in Final Fantasy IX. Items are used in battle via the Item command, but some items are more effective in battle than on field.

FFIX Phoenix Pinion Icon Phoenix Pinion Recovers a character from KO, recovering 1-10 HP. Instant death to undead target. HP drops to 1-10 if target is a zombie. Has no effect if target is a zombie and KO. Can only be used in battle. 100 through synthesizing a Phoenix Down and Gysahl Green at Hades.
Cures KO. It cannot be used in the field.
FFIX Elixir Icon Elixir Fully restores HP and MP.

Key items Edit

By pressing the Square button the player can read descriptions of the key items in the menu. Certain key item descriptions change during the story, such as Silver Pendant and Memory Earring. There are actually two separate Gizamaluke Bell key items, but the player can only see the description for the second one if two of them are in the inventory at the same time.

Memory Earring One of four rare jewels. Given by Eiko in Madain Sari.

Falcon Claw One of the four jewels. Found in Alexandria at the beginning of disc 3.
Key item from Lindblum. Acquired in Alexandria. Linked to the eidolons.
Desert Star One of the four jewels. Found in Alexandria at the beginning of disc 3.
Key item from Cleyra. Retrieved in Alexandria. Linked to the eidolons.
Ticket A ticket to the play in Alexandria, owned by Vivi. Sadly, turns out to be a forgery.
Vivi's key item. A very expensive-looking ticket.
Blank's Medicine Blank gives this item before exploring the Evil Forest. Used to cure Garnet of the Plant Brain's seed.
A key item received from Blank. An antidote to Plant Brain's seed.
Continental Map Given by Blank in the Evil Forest.
A key item received from Blank. Checks current location and place names on the world map.
World Map Given by Regent Cid before leaving Lindblum in disc 2.
A key item received from Cid. Checks current location and place names on the world map.
Moogle's Flute Given to by Mogster in the Evil Forest. Allows one to call on a moogle anywhere on the world map.
A key item received in Evil Forest. Calls a moogle while on the world map. A beautiful flute with intricate decoration.
Kupo Nut Given to the moogle husband in Gizamaluke's Grotto for rewards. Can be found in Lindblum in the "Vivi's shopping" ATE and more are obtained by delivering letters for the moogles.

Gizamaluke Bell Given by a wounded soldier in Gizamaluke's Grotto. Opens the door to the Bell Room.
A key item in Gizamaluke. Opens the "Bell Door."
Holy Bell Found in the cavern of Gizamaluke's Grotto that opens the left door in the Bell Room.
A key item in Gizamaluke. Opens the "Holy Door".
Protection Bell Found under a bed in Burmecia.

Gate Pass This is an item given to Steiner at the Bohden Gate.
A key item received in South Gate. Lindblum's travel passport.
Supersoft Given by Doctor Tot in his tower in Treno.
A key item received in Treno. Cures permanently-petrified Blank. A magical item.
Unusual Potion This is given in the Theater Avenue by Cinna. Another part of Cid's "cure".
A key item received in Lindblum. An ingredient to the medicine that can cure Cid's curse.
Beautiful Potion A potion given by Alice in the weapon shop, after Lindblum lies in ruins on disc 3. See Also: Unusual Potion and Strange Potion for the ingredients to Cid's cure.

Mayor's Key Discovered in the mayor's house in Dali. Used to enter the locked part of the windmill. Can only be obtained by leaving Treno during the card tournament on disc 3 and traveling to Dali.

Moccha Coffee Another of the many coffees found on Gaia. Found in the Bohden Arch next to the spring. Part of Morrid's coffee sidequest.

Burman Coffee Found in a chest in the locked part of the Dali windmill, along with 30,000 gil. Not accessible until the player has the mayor's key. Can only be obtained by leaving Treno during the card tournament, and traveling to Dali.

Master Hunter Received after the Festival of the Hunt in Lindblum, along with other items depending on who of the party is victorious.

Mini-Brahne A mini figurine found in the Dali Mayor's House. Can only be obtained by leaving Treno during the card tournament on disc 3 and traveling to Dali.

Mini-Cid A mini figurine and the cheapest of all the items which can be bought in the Treno auction house, with a starting bid of only 500 gil. Can be bought during disc 2.

Magical Fingertip A rare and expensive item bid on in the Treno auction house. Only shows up on disc 4, and only after buying Doga's Artifact, Une's Mirror, Rat Tail, and Griffin's Heart first, and selling them to the citizens of Treno. Must also speak to an old man in Daguerreo to make the item appear. Sold only once. Given to the old man in Daguerreo to get the Excalibur.
