The following is a list of all the themes that play exclusively in battle scenes present in the Final Fantasy series: Random encounter battle themes, Boss battle themes, specific Boss battle themes and Final Boss themes, etc.

  • "Battle Scene 1" for random encounter and minor boss battle theme in the NES and MSX versions and random encounter theme for the latest versions.
  • "Battle Scene 2" for major boss and final boss battle theme in the NES and MSX versions and final boss theme for the latest versions.
  • "Battle Scene B" for minor boss theme in versions more recent than MSX.
  • "Battle Scene A" for major boss theme in versions more recent than MSX.

  • "Saber's Edge" for boss battle themes until Chapter 10, with the exception of the Mark bosses in the Faultwarrens.
  • "Eidolons" for the battles against Shiva, Hecatoncheir, Bahamut and Havoc Skytank.
  • "Test of the l'Cie" for battles against Brynhildr, Dahaka and Alexander. Also present in some Mark battles.
  • "Desperate Struggle" for some boss battles and most Mark battles and the battle against Odin.
  • "Can't Catch a Break" for the battle against Enki and Enlil.
  • "Fighting Fate" for the battles against Barthandelus.
  • "Eden Under Siege" for the battle against The Proudclad.
  • "Born Anew" for the first battle against Orphan.
  • "Nascent Requiem" for the final battle.

  • "Last Hunter" for random battles in Bresha Ruins 5 AF and the Coliseum battle against Ultros and Typhon.
  • "Paradigm Shift" for random battles in New Bodhum 3 AF and the Coliseum battle against PuPu.
  • "Worlds Collide" for the battle against Paradox Alpha in Bresha Ruins 5 AF and Aloeidai in Yaschas Massif 10 AF.
  • "Etro's Champion" for Lightning's battle between Chaos Bahamut. Later returns as the battle theme in A Dying World.
  • "Limit Break!" for battles against Gogmagog in New Bodhum 3 AF, Royal Ripeness in Sunleth Waterscape 300 AF, Zenobia in Academia 400 AF, Proto fal'Cie Adam in Augusta Tower 200 AF, the first phase of battle against Ultros, and the Coliseum battle against Snow.
  • "Warrior Goddess" plays during the first battle between Lightning and Caius, when the three Cie'th attack Yeul in Academia 400 AF, and Gorgyra battle in Yaschas Massif 1X AF.
  • "Giant Impact" plays during the series of battles against Nektons and Meonektons in New Bodhum 3 AF and during the battle with Atlas.
  • "Divine Conflict" plays during the aerial battle with Chaos Bahamut, the fights in Academia 500 AF, and the Coliseum battle against Lightning and Lieutenant Amodar.
  • "The Invisible Abyss" plays during the final battle and in the battle against Caius in Requiem of the Goddess scenario.
  • "Full Speed Ahead" plays during the random battles at night in New Bodhum 3 AF and Bresha Ruins 300 AF.
  • "Caius's Theme" plays during the battle of Serah against him in the Void Beyond.
  • "Endless Paradox" plays during the battle against Caius in Valhalla.
  • "Heart of Chaos" plays during the battle against Chaos Bahamut in Requiem of the Goddess scenario.
  • "Time's Master" plays during the battle against Caius and Chaos Bahamut in Academia 500 AF.
  • "Threat Level Omega" plays during random battles at Academia 400 F and Omega.
  • "Clash on the Big Bridge - Oriental MIX" plays during Coliseum Gilgamesh downloadable content battle.
  • Unnamed track played during the Omega battle in Japanese version of the game before 1.03 update.
Tracks from Final Fantasy XIII
  • "Blinded By Light" plays during random battles in Vile Peaks 200 AF and after storyline events in New Bodhum 700 AF, and the first battle against Lightning in the Coliseum.
  • "Saber's Edge" plays in battle against Long Gui.
  • "Test of the l'Cie" plays during the battle against Yomi and Nabaat.

  • "Trisection" the most used, and notably plays in the Prologue and the final battle of Chapter 1.
  • "Antipyretic", "Night Attack", and "Bloody Execrement" are also widely recurring.
  • "Unavoidable Battle" for the storyline battles at Balias Tor and Germinas Peak.
  • "Remnants" plays in several saddening battles, such as the second against Milleuda Folles.
  • "Run Past Through The Plains" plays when rescuing Rapha Galthena.
  • "Apoplexy" plays, among other times, when rescuing Boco.
  • "Espionage" plays in Midlight's Deep and when fighting Barich Fendsor.
  • "Antidote" plays in several battles at the Mining Town of Gollund.
  • "Random Waltz", "A Chapel", and "Desert Land" are used only in random battles.
  • "The Pervert" is the Lucavi theme.
  • "Altima, the Nice Body" and "Altima, the Perfect Body" are the final boss themes.

Final Fantasy Mystic QuestEdit

TriviaEdit

  • In the original three installments of the main series, the total number of themes that appeared only in-battle present in each game corresponded to the game's chronological number. This was stopped after Final Fantasy IV when Final Fantasy IV included five distinct battle themes.
