Lion Heart in Final Fantasy VIII.

The Lion Heart (ライオンハート, Raionhāto) is Squall Leonhart's ultimate gunblade from Final Fantasy VIII. As with all gunblade models other than Revolver, it is never seen in any of the game's FMVs. It stands out due to its bright blue blade and ornately shaped handle. By mugging or defeating certain monsters at certain levels and exploiting the card conversion ability, it is possible to obtain the Lion Heart on the first disc of the game.

In Dissidia Final Fantasy, when Squall Leonhart enters EX mode in battle, his regular Revolver is replaced by the Lion Heart. The Lion Heart also appears as a stat boosting item and exclusive weapon for Squall's use. To obtain it, you must already have the Punisher Gunblade, as well as 5 Unshelled Bullets (which require 4 Megalixirs apiece, which in turn can be obtained in the Duel Colosseum Lunar Whale Course) and 5 Bless Orbs (which can be obtained through Battlegen).

[edit] Kingdom Hearts series

The Lionheart from the original Kingdom Hearts.

A Keyblade named after the Lionheart can be obtained by defeating Cloud and Leon in the Hades Cup in Kingdom Hearts. It has high attack power, increases Sora's max MP, and increases his magic and summoning powers.

The Sleeping Lion, as seen in Kingdom Hearts II.

A similar weapon called the Sleeping Lion can be acquired in Kingdom Hearts II from Leon in Hollow Bastion partway through the game. It has decent attack strength and magical abilities, and increases the amount of strikes Sora can deliver in a combo.

Both the Sleeping Lion and the Lion Heart, despite their names, look more like the Revolver and not the Lionheart, and use Squall's Griever emblem as the basis for their designs. The Sleeping Lion in particular has a bladed edge along its length unlike the majority of Keyblades, making it appear very similar to the Revolver.

[edit] Merchandise

  • The Lion Heart is included in the Play Arts Arms set along with four other ultimate weapons. However its blade is not blue like in its other appearances, instead the blade is metallic-gray like the Revolver.
