Final Fantasy IV: The After Years
Edit
Gekkou learns a Ninjutsu called Payback Wave at level 24 that acts like Lifebreak. It costs 25 MP to cast.
Final Fantasy V
Edit
???? is a Blue Magic spell learned from the following enemies:
- Azulmagia
- Kuza Beast
- Tyrannosaur
- Wild Nakk
- Behemoth
- Gel Fish
- King Behemoth
- Mecha Head
- Numb Blade
- Tunneller
It costs 3 MP to cast. The player may utilize this ability by catching and releasing a Reflect Mage or a Tunneller during a fight with a Zephyrus.
Final Fantasy VI
Edit
Strago uses the Revenge Lore, known as Revenge Blast in the Advance version. It costs 31 MP to cast. It is one of his default Lores.
Final Fantasy VII
Edit
???? is an enemy ability in Final Fantasy VII. It inflicts damage equal to the difference of the user's maximum HP and their current HP, meaning it is more powerful the closer the enemy is to Death. It is used by Jersey and Behemoth. The player can use ???? as an Enemy Skill if attacked by the skill with the Materia equipped. It costs 3 MP to cast.
It is a difficult Enemy Skill to learn at times as neither enemy will use it that frequently. The Behemoth is only fought in an unrevisitable location and therefore the opportunity to receive it from this enemy can be missed. While the Jersey enemy remains available until the end of the game, the player must act in a specific way as they must never be attacked in order to use the spell. If they are attacked, they will switch to their second form which never uses ????, and due to a bug in their coding, will never change forms again, making it impossible to learn ???? from that specific Jersey.
???? can be useful at Gold Saucer's Battle Square in case the player ends up breaking their weapon.
Final Fantasy IX
Edit
Quina's Blue Magic spell Pumpkin Head costs 12 MP to use. It can't be reflected and works with Return Magic. Quina can learn it by eating a Python, Hedgehog Pie, Ladybug, Skeleton, Yeti, Basilisk, or Bandersnatch.
Steiner also has a similar attack, Minus Strike (サガク剣, Sagaku-ken), which costs 8 MP to use and can be learned for 35 AP through the Iron Sword, Excalibur II, or Rubber Helm.
Final Fantasy X-2
Edit
The Samurai Dressphere can use Mirror of Equity as one of the the dresspheres two initial abilities, the other one being Attack. It costs 16 MP to use.
Final Fantasy XII
Edit
The Time Magick spell Balance is a Time Magick 4 license, which costs 35 license points to unlock. The spell itself can be bought from Yugri's Magicks in Rabanastre, or from the Moogle merchant in Eruyt Village for 1,500 gil. The spell can also be performed using the Balance Mote item. This spell is also used by the Feral Retriever. Vossler also has access to the spell, which he will use when he has critical HP.
In the International Zodiac Job System version, Balance is a Time Magick 3 License that costs 40 LP and available for two job classes: Red Mage and Time Mage. The spell itself can only be found in a chest in the Nam-Yensa Sandsea.
Because the game has an invisible Break HP Limit (HP can exceed 9,999 with Bubble even if that is the highest value displayed on screen) Balance is one of the few attacks in the game that can break the damage limit.
Final Fantasy Type-0
Edit
Cinque is able to use Revenge Blast. It does greater damage the lower her HP is.
Final Fantasy Tactics
Edit
Archaeodaemons can use the Lifebreak ability. Beowulf's Vengeance and Cloud's Blade Beam also function exactly the same way. Almagest also has the same effect.
Byblos' Vengeance acts similar to the Lifebreak spell, dealing damage equal to the difference in the user's Max HP and current HP. Byblos already knows this ability when he joins the party.
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance
Edit
Templars can use Lifebreak learned for 300 AP from the Kain's Lance, and deals damage equal to the HP lost. Curiously enough, the ability is Dark elemental, and thus the damage will be reversed on undead enemies. The range of the ability is equal to the weapon currently equipped.
Snipers can use Doom Archer. However, Doom Archer's damage is split between HP and MP.
Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift
Edit
- Templars can use Lifebreak that is now Dark-elemental.
- Master Monks can use Withering Strike, a ranged version.
- Trickster's Agitate and Heritor's Viola are area-of-effect versions of Lifebreak.
- Snipers can use Marksman's Spite. Marksman's Spite damage is split between HP and MP.
