The Malboro is capable of inflicting Stun, Silence, and Poison on Zack, so make sure that he is protected against these statuses. If Zack has decent Attack ratings, he will most likely need only three Costly Punch attacks to defeat the Malboro. Otherwise, use a combination of Graviga, Flare, and Assault Twister+.
