Spear

Spears (スピア Supia), also known as Polearms, are a recurring weapon type throughout the Final Fantasy series. They are associated with the Dragoon Job class, and usually grant the Jump ability. In several installments, there are variants of spears, lances, and javelins.

Everyone can use Spears in this game. Ricard, as a Dragoon, uses spears as his default weapons.

In Final Fantasy III, the Dragoon Job class allows the party characters to gain access to spears, and the Jump ability.

Kain Highwind, as the only Dragoon Job class character throughout the game, is the only character capable of accessing Spears, with the strongest spear being Abel's Lance.

The party characters can gain access to spear and the Jump ability via the Dragoon Job class. All spears also double the power of Jump attacks when equipped.

Edgar and Mog are the only playable characters that can equip spears. The Jump command's power is doubled when using spears.

By equipping the appropriate License, any character can gain access to spears. It is a two-handed weapon, with the strongest, and one of the most coveted weapons in the game being the Zodiac Spear.

One of the characters is seen wielding a spear as his weapon of choice.

Dragoon job classes is capable of equipping spears, or in their PSP translation, Polearms. Unlike close-ranged weapons, Spears hits two units instead of one. By accessing the "Equip Polearms" support ability, other Job classes can utilize the Spear as well, but not the Jump ability.

Only the Dragoon and Templar Job classes can equip spears Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. Similar to Final Fantasy Tactics, Spears may hit two units instead of one.
