Kirin (キリン, Kirin?) is a recurring summon in the Final Fantasy series. This hooved chimerical creature casts Regen on the party.

Template:Sideicon Template:PseudoImage Kirin is an esper, one of the first four espers obtained in Zozo. Its summon ability, Holy Aura (Life Guard in pre-GBA localizations), casts Regen on the entire player party. It costs 18 MP to summon.

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance

Template:Sideicon Kirin casts Regen in the target area. Summoners can learn it from the Cure Staff for 200 AP and costs 18 MP to cast.

Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift

Template:Sideicon Kirin grants Regen to all units in a large target area, within a range of 4 tiles from the caster. It can be learned once again from the Healing Staff by Summoners for 250 AP, and costs 16 MP to cast.

Etymology

Kirin is the Japanese and Korean name for the Qilin, which is a mythical hooved Chinese chimerical creature known throughout various East Asian cultures, and is said to appear with the imminent arrival or passing of a wise sage or an illustrious ruler.
