Template:Sideicon Template:Summon Kirin is an esper in Final Fantasy VI who can be acquired as a magicite. It is one of the first four magicite acquired by the party.

Profile

Kirin appears as a silver horse-like creature similar to a unicorn, though it has two crooked golden horns rather than one straight one. It also features green hair throughout its body.

Story

Kirin is granted as a magicite to the Returners by Ramuh. He grants the party the magicite after they reach him and Terra at the top, along with three other magicite, including himself, Siren and Cait Sith.

Obtained

Kirin is obtained during the main story. It is granted by Ramuh to the party, and afterwards can be permanently used.

Battle

Kirin summoned into battle.

Kirin costs 18 MP to summon. When summoned, Kirin's ability is is Holy Aura (or Life Guard in SNES). This casts Regen on the entire party when used.

Etymology

Kirin is the Japanese and Korean name for the Qilin, which is a mythical hooved Chinese chimerical creature known throughout various East Asian cultures, and is said to appear with the imminent arrival or passing of a wise sage or an illustrious ruler.
