TYPE0

The otherwise-unnamed King of Concordia is a minor antagonist in Final Fantasy Type-0.

ProfileEdit

AppearanceEdit

The King of Concordia dresses in a similar manner to other high-ranking Concordians, in a blue kimono-like outfit, except that his kimono sports a collar of black feathers. On top of this, he also wears chest armor, gauntlets, and a construction attached at the waist similar to a dragon's wing. A part of his apparel that particularly stands out is his avian-shaped headdress, which covers his whole head and the top half of his face.

PersonalityEdit

The very first King of Concordia, home of the Soryu Crystal. A proud man who places his people and country before all else, or so it would seem.

Despite saying he is working for the good of his country, the King of Concordia is a proud and selfish man, putting his own agenda ahead of the well-being of his country.[1] When he speaks, he uses a condescending or insulting tone, and when alarmed his voice becomes high-pitched and hysterical.

The King allies with the empire.

After the assassination of Queen Andoria, the King of Concordia takes her place, being the first male king in the history of Concordia. As the head of a puppet regime, the King hands over the Azure Dragon Crystal into the "protection" of Militesi, and declares war on the Dominion of Rubrum. Enraged by the Dominion's advance in the war and the fact that the Soryu will not obey him—rather than protect the Kingdom, as he officially states—he order the unsealing of Naraku, a place where the Dracobaltians got imprisoned and curse with insatiable hunger and endless pain. As Yuzuki advises him not to do so, he questions her allegiance towards the kingdom and her ruler, Yuzuki finally gives in, asking how to evacuate the Kingdom's people who would not be safe from the Dracobaltian. Showing no interest to this matter, the King dismisses Yuzuki and Celestia to deal with this task but opening Naraku in the first place.

Later, he is cornered by Yuzuki and Class Zero, as he tries to find the Blue Dragon Crystal in Naraku. There he finally reveals his true intentions and feelings, him knowing of the Queen's assassination and agreeing to it in order to become the first male king of Concordia. He then explains that he feels discriminated for not being allowed to become king originally because of his gender and that he wanted to change that. Thus he came to Naraku together with Yuzuki to find and reactivate the Azure Dragon Crystal so that the Kingdom would not be ruled only by women any longer.

However, as Yuzuki explains him why the Azure Dragon Crystal ceased to exist and what the male people of the Azure Dragon Crystal have done while they were in charge with their Crystal and what eventually became of them, pointing out the Dracobaltians, the King goes insane. Indignant and disgusted, the King refuses to believe in a single word Yuzuki spoke and is determined to help Concordia to its former brilliance by bringing back the Azure Dragon Crystal. In the same instance, the Dracobaltians appear and eat him alive.
