The Kalavinka is a boss in Final Fantasy XIII-2. It is encountered in Bresha Ruins 100 AF after Serah and Noel resolve the local paradox. Its battle music is "Worlds Collide".

Datalog[]

The Kalavinka Striker is a bioweapon that was deployed by the elite PSICOM forces of the defunct Sanctum government of Cocoon. It was believed these weapons were all lost in the catastrophe, but at least one apparently fell into the Void Beyond.

Stats[]

Battle[]

Kalavinka starts the battle with Hellstorm Bolt, a lightning attack which causes significant damage to one target. Kalavinka will use this attack periodically throughout the battle, but the rest of his attacks are generally weak.

Strategy[]

After quickly healing with Medics, players should buff themselves defensively with Synergists while a Saboteur attempts to inflict Deprotect and Deshell on the Kalavinka. Once ready, a Commando can stabilize the chain gauge before switching to a paradigm dedicated to Staggering Kalavinka (such as Tri-disaster (RAV/RAV/RAV) or Relentless Assault (COM/RAV/RAV)). Once staggered, Kalavinka should fall quickly against an onslaught of Commandos.

Using a Sentinel is recommended for lower level players struggling to withstand Kalavinka's attacks, especially Hellstorm Bolt.

Etymology[]

Kalaviṅka is a fantastical immortal creature in Buddhism with a human head and a bird's torso, with long flowing tail. The kalaviṅka is said to dwell in Buddhist paradise and reputed to preach the Buddhist scripture with its fine voice.
