"Humans and your insatiable greed... Your lust for power leads always to a lust for blood... This place is a sanctuary for wayward souls... What business have you filthy creatures here? You slaughter my brethren, and befoul their rest with the profanity of your continued existence... You should not have come here. In the name of all dragonkind, I shall grant you the death you desire. I am the dealer of destruction... I am the font from which fear springs... I am Kaiser... And your time is at end."
—Kaiser Dragon

Kaiser Dragon, also known as simply Kaiser, is an optional superboss in the game Final Fantasy VI Advance and is fought in the Dragons' Den. Easily the most difficult opponent in the entire game (barring Omega Weapon), Kaiser Dragon has 262,000 HP and never seems to run out of MP.

Kaiser Dragon has 65,500 HP per stage. He has four stages. He moves onto the next stage when he Wall Changes. He Wall Changes after a period of time or if you are able to completely deplete his HP in a turn.

The attacks, spells, and counters Kaiser Dragon employs are dependent on the results of Wall Change and what life he is on, and are as follows:

Last Stage

When Kaiser Dragon's HP hits zero during his last stage, he casts Ultima, causing massive damage to the entire party.

Kaiser Dragon is actually the CzarDragon; a dummied superboss that was taken out of the final product of the original SNES game. While CzarDragon's appearance was merely a palette swap of Fiend Dragon and Blue Dragon, Kaiser Dragon was given an all-new look, unique to himself, though its sprite is actually a modified version of CzarDragon's.

Defeating Kaiser Dragon rewards the player with the Diabolos Magicite.

[edit] Strategy

Equip as much elemental-resisting equipment as you can. Ribbons will help against his Poison mode and Mind Blast.

Avoid bringing Edgar and Mog, unless the latter has been trained as a tank mage, since they will not be awarded Ribbons because their main damage source, Dragon Horn + Jump, uses both relic slot, making the party mage waste time with Esuna. Bring as many Celestriads as you can for the mages, since they don't have the time to spend using Osmose. At the exception of those mentioned, characters should abuse their main ways of dealing damage (Quick - Ultima x 2, Valiant Knife while wounded, throwing Impartisans, Blitz). Have as many buffs (Hastega, Valor and such) on your party as possible. Reraise is always useful too.

After he Wall Changes for the last time, make sure you always have someone with Reraise, since Kaiser always ends the battle with Ultima, dealing over 6.000 damage to all, making it very unlikely for you to survive.

It is advantageous to attack the Kaiser Dragon as much as possible when it is in the status-ailment-inflicting stage (listed as fourth on the chart above), because it will only counter attacks with the relatively weak Bio, which can be nullified with Ribbons.
