Lord Jyscal Guado (ジスカル, Jisukaru?) is a non-player character from Final Fantasy X and its sequel, Final Fantasy X-2.

Story

Early LifeEdit
Jyscal was the leader of the Guado, as well as a Maester of Yevon, who married a human woman, furthering relationships with the Guado and Yevonites. He was apparently revered throughout Spira. His marriage resulted in the birth of a half-breed son, Seymour Guado, who was not accepted well by the Guado, and threatened to rebel. Desperate to soothe the waves of a possible uprising, Jyscal had Seymour and his mother sent to the palace at Baaj, where Seymour was trained in the ways of a summoner.
At some point, his mother was turned into a Fayth, allowing Seymour to acquire power through her as the aeon Anima but Seymour refused, saying that he wanted his mother. She, however, insisted that he go ahead because only by defeating Sin, would the people accept Seymour. However, the aeon and the knowledge of his mother's sacrifice gave Seymour terrible ideas about life and death, and he began to form a messianic complex. With a changed outlook, he created a plan to "save" Spira from the cycle of death by becoming Sin himself.

Returning to Guadosalam and gaining his people's trust and admiration, Seymour killed his father to succeed him as Maester. Lord Jyscal's soul was subsequently sent to the Farplane, but most unusually, he returns for a few moments to the world of the living to give Yuna a sphere documenting Seymour's evil motives.
Jyscal is then sent once more by Yuna. Jyscal's Sphere reveals to the party Seymour's true nature, and after watching, Yuna resolves to marry Seymour and force him to turn himself in for Jyscal's murder while her Guardians resolve to defeat Seymour once and for all.
Final Fantasy X-2Edit
Added by KeltainentoukokuuTwo years after Sin's defeat, Pacce and his friends locate a mysterious dungeon under Bevelle. Yuna, Rikku, and Paine traverse this labyrinth, the Via Infinito, and discover Jyscal's soul trapped there, along with several others, such as those of Maesters Kinoc and Mika, Yunalesca, and Lord Zaon. Jyscal transforms into the Black Elemental to fight the party.
