Independent Materia.

Single slot. Independent Materia is a subset of Materia (Final Fantasy VII) in Final Fantasy VII. They allow the use of support abilities without the need of pairing the Materia with other Materia, differentiating them from Support Materia.

Among the support abilities provided by Independent Materia are the abilities to cover allies, counterattack, and to hit at full damage from the back row. In addition to adding support abilities, Independent Materia can also provide stat boosts. No stat penalties can occur by equipping Independent Materia.
