Ifrit is an enemy in Final Fantasy X. It is summoned by Belgemine as a means to train Yuna in her battle against Sin. Additionally, Ifrit is also fought as part of the game's final battles.
Belgemine is found in an inlet on the South End section of the Mi'ihen Highroad and will challenge Yuna in a duel of aeons and will summon Ifrit. Since the same aeon cannot fight each other, Yuna can only summon Valefor. It is recommended that Valefor or Yuna has a full Overdrive gauge before engaging battle.
Ifrit alternates between a fairly weak physical attack and the more powerful Meteor Strike. Telling Valefor to use Shield before Ifrit uses Meteor Strike is key to winning the battle. It is a good idea to use Valefor's Overdrive when Valefor is low on HP as a last-ditch effort to beat it.
Defeating Ifrit will award an Echo Ring, which has the HP +10% and Silence Ward auto-abilities. Losing earns a Seeker's Ring, which only has HP +10%.
Ifrit can be fought after defeating Valefor. As in the previous battle, Ifrit's arsenal includes a physical attack and Meteor Strike, however, this time he does not follow a general attack pattern. This battle will be straight-forward if the player takes advantage of Ifrit's slow speed and summon Shiva.
Defeating Ifrit for the first time will net thirty X-Potions and will unlock Ixion. All subsequent wins will earn six Mana Spheres.
Since the player is fighting their own aeon, here Ifrit has the exact same stats as he had under the player's control, although he won't use any special abilities the player may have taught it. Due to Auto-Life it is impossible to die here. Unless the player has spent a lot of time leveling up Ifrit at the expense of their main party, he should fall in a few normal attacks.
