FFD Hellfire in Ifrit battle

Hellfire.

Fira and Thwack can both deal about 250 damage to your entire party. Whack will hit for 700+ damage and cause Confusion. Ifrit can use Heat Up, which will make him stronger and faster. Heat Up will wear off eventually, but he can cast it again. He only uses Hellfire when he's affected by Heat Up; it will deal about 650+ damage to your entire party.

Strategy[]

Make sure the party is affected by Protect at all times. Use three characters including Graham to attack and two characters to heal. Equip the Ice Bow on a Warrior or a Ranger, then place him in the back row. Equip the Ice Knuckles on a Monk, and put him in the front row. They should be using their strongest attacks, notably Strike and Smash. Do not use Aura Blast as it changes your attack element to Holy instead of Ice. Your healers should have access to Cura to spam heal your party. When Ifrit uses Heat Up, have Graham move into the back row, then start spamming Draw Attacks. This will make Ifrit focus his attacks on Graham. Your party will need constant heals during this period, or they will die very quickly. Ifrit is one of the harder bosses in this game, especially if you choose to fight him as soon as he becomes available. An under leveled or poorly optimized party may not be able to beat him at all.

Etymology[]

In Arabian mythology, Ifrit (also spelled Efreet or Afreet, from Arabic عفريت Ifrīt), is the name given to a class of Jinn (Demons also known as Djinn, Djinni, and Genie) that embody fire. Though they could live for thousands of years, they were not immortal, and if cut, they would "bleed" the fire running through their veins until it consumed their bodies.
