Ice Spikes is a Black Magic spell in Final Fantasy XI, cast on oneself to punish enemies that may try to damage you. The spikes do an amount of damage contingent upon the caster's Enhancing Magic ability and the target's resistance to the Ice element. Generally, this spell will not do more than 15 damage per hit at level 75, and starts out much weaker than that. Ice spikes have a chance of inflicting Paralysis on any creature that physically hits a target with this status active. Ice Spikes scrolls are dropped by certain ghost enemies.
Status
Ice spikes deal ice damage and have a chance of inflicting Paralysis on anything that physically hits a target with this status active. Red Mages wearing Duelist's Tights will have the effect of their spikes enhanced.

- The Blue Magic spell Reactor Cool
- Shiva's Blood Pact:Ward Frost Armor
Additionally, the following equipment occasionally will mimic the effect of Ice Spikes:

- Gothic Sabatons
- Ice Gauntlets
- Ice Shield / Ice Shield +1
- Ogre Jerkin / Ogre Jerkin +1
- Ogre Trousers / Ogre Trousers +1
