The Ice Dragon uses water-elemental physical attacks and the Ice Breath ability. Players are highly advised to equip an Ice Shield to all party members. During the battle with the Ice Dragon, the player should bring a level two Elementalist and a level two Black Mage. Since the Ice Dragon is weak to fire-elemental attacks, the player should equip their Black Mage with a Firaga tome.
When the battle begins the player should have their Elementalist cast Amplify, in order to enhance the party’s elemental attacks. The player should have their Black Mage use Spell Focus and then have the Black Mage use Firaga during the next turn. This can instantly defeat the Ice Dragon or it will leave the enemy on critical health. The player should repeat this strategy until the Ice Dragon is defeated.
The Ice Dragon uses the same abilities and attack patterns from the previous boss battle, so the player should again bring an Elementalist and Black Mage. Players are highly advised to equip an Ice Shield and a Steam Cape to all party members. The Ice Dragon is still weak to the fire element, so the player should equip fire-elemental spells and weapons.
When the battle begins the player should cast Lux on the entire party and the Elementalist should cast Mysterio. With Mysterio active, and Ice Shields and Steam Capes equipped to all party members, the player will hardly take any serious damage during the battle. The physical fighter should use their strongest attacks and their Black Mage cast Spell Focus on themselves for Firaga. If the party's HP should begin to fall during the battle, the player should use Curaga to heal the party. The player should have their fighter and Black Mage repeatedly deal damage to the Ice Dragon until it is defeated.
