Headgear (ヘッドギア, Heddogia?), also known as Fighting Headgear, is a recurring helmet in the Final Fantasy series that is oftentimes a moderate to weak in terms of Defense and abilities. It rarely offers any special bonuses.

The Headgear is a low-ranked hat that can be used by everyone except Steiner and Freya. It provides 2 Defense, 6 Magic Defense, and halves damage from Water-elemental attacks, which can be useful in the battle against Gizamaluke. It costs 330 gil and is bought from Lindblum (disc 1 & 2), Burmecia, Summit Station, and Black Mage Village (discs 2 & 3), and teaches the ability Undead Killer to physical attackers.

Final Fantasy XI[]

Headgear is an item for the head slot equippable at level 11 by Monks, White Mages, Red Mages, Thieves, Paladins, Beastmasters, Bards, Dragoons, Summoners, Blue Mages, Corsairs, Puppetmasters, and Dancers. It provides 5 defense, and can be synthesized, or bought in Windurst and Bastok.

Final Fantasy XII[]

Headgear is the second weakest light hat that provides 20 HP and 5 Magick Resist. In the original version, it requires 15 LP and the Light Armor 2 license to use. It can be bought at Rabanastre after obtaining the Crescent Stone and at Barheim Passage before obtaining the Treaty-Blade for 200 gil. It is found the Barheim Passage's Op Sector 37, and poached from Giza Rabbit (rare).

In the Zodiac versions, it can be bought in Rabanastre, Giza Plains - The Dry, Nalbina Fortress, and Barheim Passage for 200 gil, found as a treasure Nalbina Dungeons (The Black Watch), and be poached from Giza Rabbit (3% chance). It is initially equipped on Balthier and Fran. It can be equipped by the Machinist, Monk, Archer, and Shikari.
