Haukke Manor is a Dungeon Dungeon in Final Fantasy XIV. In Patch 6.1, aspects of the dungeon will be overhauled and made compatible for the Duty Support System

Story[]

Haukke's Manor

Haukker Manor in the opening cutscene.

The manor had controversially fallen under ownership of the Seedseers as a place of meditation and retreat. It eventually was sold to a wealthy Wildwood named Lady Amandine of House Dartancours, whose vanity became the subject of increasingly lurid legends. Scarred during the Calamity, Amandine is talked by masked men into making a bargain with the voidsent Halicarnassus, selling her soul to regain her beauty while making her estate home to various dark beings.

Amandine's beauty treatments following her transition into a monster involved a series of horrific murders in the Black Shroud that left her victims facially disfigured. A trail soon pointed to a former manservant, who confessed the truth of what Amandine was doing and his role in her crimes. He begged Warrior of Light to put an end to her insanity.

Duties[]

Haukke Manor[]

Once used by Seedseers as a place for spiritual reflection and meditation, Haukke Manor was long frowned upon by the people of Gridania as a symbol of excess. After years of protest, the building was finally sold to a wealthy Wildwood Elezen by the name of Lady Amandine.

While little is known of the lady, it was said that she was exceptionally vain, and that to maintain her impeccable beauty, she would spare no expense. From facial creams concocted from rare Coerthan honeys to shampoos derived from the milk of exotic phurbles, her daily ritual of beauty treatments escalated until it was rumored she was bathing in the blood of her virgin maidservants. No amount of man-made tinctures, however, could hide the hideous scars she eventually suffered during the Calamity, and soon she was forced to turn to a darker solution, signing away her very soul in a final effort to literally "save face."

In-game descriptions

This dungeon is somewhat non-linear, as access to the top floor is initially sealed by a barrier. Players must instead wind their way through the ground floor and basement to obtain the means of breaking the barrier. Once at the top, an ahriman known as the Manor Sentry engages the player, who soon flees to awaken the mistress of the mansion.

Haukke Manor (Hard)[]

Haukke Manor Hard

Haukke Manor (Hard)

Scarred by the Calamity and warped by vanity, the lady of House Dartancours has made a bargain with the voidsent─and lost her soul, as is so often the case with such sketchy arrangements. Now, her manor house is a lair to all manner of dark beings, and the elite band of Wood Wailers sent to purge them has failed to report back. A second try is now in the works.

In-game description

Though Lady Amandine was slain, the voidsent still inhabited her manor. After the disappearance of one squad of Wood Wailers, adventurers came as reinforcements. The unfortunate fates of the Wood Wailers are just one of the many hazards in this mansion.

Unlike the first version, players will first be working their way through the top floor and the ground level in order to make their way to the basement. In the cellar lies the boss, a vampiric voidsent called Halicarnassus. During the fight, she will periodically summon the Manor Servant, handmaidens, and even Lady Amandine, eventually consuming their lifeforce. When this happens, she will use an attack called Rain of Blood based on the remaining health of her minions. After all are consumed, she will start charming the party, leading them into a power magic attack.

Behind the scenes[]

Haukke Manor was known among fans for requiring new players to use Return at the end of the first two bosses to return to the dungeon's starting point. In Patch 6.1, the dungeon is slated to receive modifications that will adjust the positioning of certain monsters, content of the final boss battle, and the addition of a teleporter after the first two bosses.[1][2]
