XIV Guild Marks were a special currency used by the various guilds all around the land of Eorzea in Final Fantasy XIV, each one with its own marks. Therefore, a Gladiator guild mark is useless at the Thaumaturge guild. The system was put on hiatus in patch 1.19, and, ultimately abandoned entirely. Players were allowed to refund guild marks for gil or materia prior to the launch of A Realm Reborn.

AcquiringEdit

Guild marks were obtained mainly via Guildleves of rank 20 and above, replacing the usual gil reward. For Disciples of War, Magic and the Land, it was instantly recognizable if a guildleve gave marks or not, as it was shown in the quest description. For Disciples of the Hand, mark gain was determined when delivering the requested items in the leve—a higher item rating increased the chance to receive marks.

Guild marks were also rewarded by completing class quests, starting at rank 20. Upon completion, the player was rewarded with substantial gil and guild mark rewards for each quest.

There was no way to sell or trade marks with other players or non-guild-affiliated NPCs.

UsageEdit

Guild marks were the only currency accepted at the guilds. They were used to buy special abilities for each class, with new abilities becoming available after each class quest was completed. In the Disciple of the Land guilds, players also had the option to buy shards and crystals using guild marks.
