Guard (ガード, Gādo?, Guard or 警備兵, Keibihei?, Security Guard), also known as MP, Security Officer, Sentry, and Trooper, is a recurring enemy in the Final Fantasy series. They are generally weak human enemies encountered early in the game.

The Guard is an enemy fought at Narshe during the start of the game. They are very weak foes and are easily dispatched.
Final Fantasy VII[]
The MP is an enemy fought at No. 1 Reactor during "No. 1 Reactor Bombing". They are the first enemies encountered, and can be defeated with a single blow.
Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII-[]
The Sentry is an enemy fought at the very beginning of the game as well as during the very first mission of the game. They are the weakest enemy in the game and provide no challenge to the player.
Final Fantasy VII Remake[]
The Security Officer is an enemy encountered in Mako Reactor 1, Sector 8, and the Sector 7 Slums. They are the first enemies fought in the game, and are the most basic type of Shinra infantry. The Security Officer also appears as a vanguard unit in Fort Condor in "Episode INTERmission" as one of the basic vanguard units.

Etymology[]
Military police (MP) are police organizations connected with, or part of, the military of a state.
Trooper (abbr. Tpr) from the French "troupier" is the equivalent rank to private in a regiment with a cavalry tradition in the British Army and many other Commonwealth armies, including those of Australia, Canada, South Africa and New Zealand.
