Gottos, also known as Gohtos, is a boss enemy from Final Fantasy II. He is located inside Fynn Castle, during the Wild Rose Rebellion attempt to retake the city. Firion and his allies must defeat Gottos to complete the liberation of the town. In later areas of the game, such as the Palamecia Castle and Jade Passage, Gottos will appear as a random enemy, sometimes in packs of two to four.

[edit] Strategy

Gottos spends the first 2 or 3 rounds of the fight using Berserk VI, which will raise his attack. The only challenge in fighting this beast is taking him out before he starts attacking with his boosted attack. Plus, he might use Haste VI on himself to raise his speed stat as well. Don't bother protecting your warriors with Blink or Protect, just pound Gottos with everything you have to take him down in a matter of a few rounds.

It has been purported that Gottos can be killed instantly if someone in the party casts Toad to a sufficiently high level (6 and up.) However, for this trick to work before Gottos attacks, the caster(s) that possess Toad to the level necessary to work need to have an Intelligence attribute higher than 30.
