It is the weakest enemy in the game and attacks in large groups; sometimes as many as eight Goblins appear at once. They are easy to kill and can drop the rare Goblin spell for Rydia.
A short, humanoid creature. It wields a sword in all the versions except the Nintendo DS where it wields an axe. It has a large curved nose, pointed ears and horns. It wears a green outfit with light brown shoulder armor and boots (on the Nintendo DS version it has dark brown pants).

Etymology
goblin is a small, mischievous creature found in many European folk tales and legends. The word "goblin" comes from the Norman French word Gobelinus, the name of a ghost that haunted the town of Évreux in the 12th century.
