Sumo is in the arena fighting against a jackal and is quickly defeated. Sumo and the others were forced to fight every day just for the entertainment of Dark Lord. Many fighters have fallen from their wounds which includes Willy. He tells him that they should tell the Gemma Knights that Mana is in danger. Before dying, he mentions that Bogard can be found at the falls. When he tries to talk to Willy, Sumo will say that he'll avenge him.

Amanda, another slave of Glaive Empire can be found within the area. She wants to go home and see her little brother. Sumo manages to escape out of the castle.

Some time later after passing through Mt. Rocks, Sumo arrives at the entrance to Glaive Castle. With the doors wide open, Sumo enters the castle looking for Fuji. He makes his way through the castle and defeats the Chimera guarding Fuji's room.

Fuji tells him that she no longer has the pendant, and they must retrieve it as soon as possible. She mentions that Dark Lord is in his room located on the top floor and she joins him.

Dark Lord compliments Sumo that he has become a bit stronger, but not enough to defeat him. Sumo tells Fuji to leave because it will become dangerous and she does so. After a though duel with Dark Lord, Sumo is victorious. He reclaims the pendant, but Sumo sees that its a fake and wonders where is the real pendant.

He heads down the stairs and doesn't see Fuji anywhere. Then realizes that she must be with Julius at the Waterfalls. He rushes out of the castle and sees Fuji heading straight to the waterfall. Fuji under the control of Julius, is ordered to take the pendant and cast the spell to reverse the Waterfalls. Sumo tries to stop her, but Julius tells him that he's the last one of the Vandole Empire, and he shall receive the power of Mana again. She utters some mystic gibberish and the waterfall reverse, but before Sumo can do anything. He's blown off and fall down below while both he and Fuji ascend the waterfall.

Etymology[]

A glaive is a European polearm weapon, consisting of a single-edged blade on the end. It is similar to the Japanese naginata and the Chinese guandao. The word "glaive" has historically been given to several very different types of weapons, however. The word originates from French.

Trivia[]

  • Before the battle with Dark Lord in the Japanese version, Sumo once again vows to avenge Willy. In the North American translation, Willy is never mentioned again after Sumo's escape, despite the fact that they were friends.
