Final Fantasy Versus XIII character

Gladiolus is a companion of Noctis and a playable character in Final Fantasy Versus XIII. In the original trailers, he appeared to be the group's senior. He is later revealed to be a childhood friend of Noctis and Ignis. Gladiolus is very prominent among Noctis's team due to his height and large build. His hair is straightened to the back and sports a jaw beard. He seems to be a cheerful person, contrasting with his imposing physique.

In the 1st Production Department Premier trailer, he is heard urging the group to escape from the soldiers invading the city.

In BattleEdit

In battle he uses bare-fisted fighting techniques with a pile bunker, and can summon a heavy greatsword.

EtymologyEdit

"Gladiolus" is Latin for "small sword", seemingly a play on his stature and use of large swords. It is also the name of a flower.
