Template:Sideicon Template:Enemy The Giant, also known as Colossus, is a dummied enemy from Final Fantasy VI. It uses the same palette as the Hill Gigas. It is not possible to fight it normally in the game, but can be fought if the ROM is patched appropriately.

Battle
Giant seems to have a completed battle script, so it is not known why it was removed from the game. In the battle script, Giant will automatically target anyone who uses a Bushido or Blitz on it. It has a few magic spells; its magical arsenal is composed of Dancing Flame, Hailstone, and Magnitude 8, the last of which is quite powerful.
Unlike the Kaiser Dragon, Giant was not given a use in any future releases. However, it still remains in the code of all versions, likely left in to avoid creating bugs.

Etymology
The mythology and legends of many different cultures include monsters of human appearance but prodigious size and strength. Giant is the English word, coined 1297, commonly used for such beings, derived from one of the most famed examples: the gigantes of Greek mythology.
The original meaning of the word colossus is an exceptionally large statue.
